At Temple (2011-14)
Steph Pasquale spent her first four seasons at Temple from 2011 to 2014. She exploded onto the scene by being named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year in 2011, when she joined former Husker All-American Taylor Edwards as the nation’s only freshmen to be selected as first-team all-region catchers. Pasquale then earned first-team all-conference accolades as a sophomore in 2012, before a breakout junior season when she was named the 2013 A-10 Player of the Year and a third-team All-American. In 2014, Pasquale suffered a hand injury and received a medical hardship and a fifth year of eligibility. She transferred to Nebraska after Temple cut its softball program.

In her Temple career, Pasquale posted a .379 average with 189 hits, 45 doubles, 25 homers and 152 RBIs. She also scored 79 runs, produced a .623 slugging percentage and a .442 on-base percentage. Pasquale struck out only 18 times in 499 career at bats as an Owl, recording three times as many walks (54) as strikeouts. Defensively, Pasquale owned a .989 fielding percentage at Temple, committing only eight errors in 738 chances.

Despite playing only three full seasons at Temple, Pasquale established school career records for hits, doubles, RBIs and batting average, while ranking second in hits and total bases (311) and fourth in home runs. Overall, Pasquale set 12 school records, including single-season records for games played (58), batting average (.465), at bats (187), hits (87), doubles (21), home runs (15), total bases (153) and RBIs (80).

Pasquale set each of those season records during her junior year in 2013, when she was named the only All-American in the history of Temple softball. She produced a .465 average as a junior with 21 doubles, 15 homers and 80 RBIs, while posting an .818 slugging percentage and .517 on-base percentage. She led the nation in RBIs per game (1.4) and was also the toughest player in the country to strike out, averaging one strikeout every 62 at bats. In addition to capturing two NCAA statistical titles, Pasquale ranked second nationally in total RBIs, third in doubles, fifth in batting average, 16th in slugging percentage, 32nd in on-base percentage and 47th in home runs.

In becoming Temple’s only All-American in 2013, Pasquale also earned her second straight appointment to the All-Northeast Region first team, and she was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. Her 80 RBIs were not only a Temple record but an Atlantic 10 record as well. She produced 25 multi-hit games and 23 multi-RBI efforts in 58 games, while posting hitting streaks of 11 and 20 games. Pasquale was honored as the NFCA co-National Player of the Week on April 9, after she went 14-for-22 (.682) with three walks, four doubles, five homers and 21 RBIs the previous week. In an April 7 doubleheader against St. Bonaventure, Pasquale was 9-for-9 with four homers and 11 RBIs. She homered three times in game one, marking only the 63rd three-homer game in NCAA history.

Pasquale also enjoyed a strong effort against Georgetown on March 2, when she went 4-for-6 with three doubles and six RBIs. The next day, Pasquale finished 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs against Georgia Tech. Pasquale finished her junior season with one five-hit game and three four-hit contests, while she also drew four walks against Rhode Island on April 26.

As a sophomore in 2012, Pasquale earned first-team all-conference accolades after batting .319 with 14 doubles, four homers and 30 RBIs. She tied for the Atlantic 10 lead with her 14 doubles, which were a school record until she hit 21 as a junior. Pasquale also tied for the team lead with 14 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games. She posted a .522 slugging percentage as a sophomore and reached base at a .423 clip with 21 walks.

Pasquale made an immediate impact for the Owls as a freshman in 2011. She batted .363 in her rookie season with seven doubles, six homers and 35 RBIs. The 2011 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, Pasquale also earned a spot on the All-Northeast Region first team. She led the Owls in batting average, slugging percentage (.548), on-base percentage (.404), hits (49) and RBIs. Pasquale struck out only five times in 135 at bats as a freshman, ranking as the nation’s 10th-toughest player to strikeout.

High School
Prior to attending Temple, Pasquale was a three-sport star for Pompton Lakes High School in Pompton Lakes, N.J. A four-year letterwinner in softball, soccer and basketball, Pasquale was a two-time all-state selection on the softball diamond. She was a second-team selection as a junior, before batting .625 and earning first-team all-state accolades as a senior. Pasquale was also a four-time all-county honoree and a three-time, first-team all-league selection.

Personal
Stephanie (Steph) Pasquale was born on Nov. 8, 1991, and she is the daughter of John and Sharon Pasquale. She has one brother, Chris, and one sister, Vanessa. Steph earned her undergraduate degree in exercise and sports science from Temple in August of 2014. A graduate student at Nebraska, Pasquale is studying special education, and she earned a spot on the 2015 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
