Sample Nebraska Softball Visit Itinerary

FRIDAY

 LIFE SKILLS

Nebraska was one of the first collegiate athletic programs to invest in life skills education and training for its student-athletes. Nationally recognized as having one of the most comprehensive life skills programs in the country, we are committed to providing the necessary resources and education to prepare our student-athletes for both career and personal success beyond college.

 COMPLIANCE

Our knowledgeable compliance staff can answer any questions you have about the recruiting process, including details on the scholarships we provide, which are based on the full cost of attendance. The staff will also offer education about other financial aid and incentive programs available to Husker student-athletes.

 COMMUNICATIONS

This part is for the parents, as our communications staff will cover the ways they will keep you in touch with your daughter's career. Nebraska is one of less than a dozen softball programs that feature a radio broadcast of every game - home or away - and television coverage of Big Ten softball has steadily increased every season.

 ACADEMICS

Graduation is our No. 1 goal, which is why Nebraska is the national leader in providing academic guidance and support for all of our student-athletes. Nebraska has produced more Academic All-Americans than any other college or university in the country, while the Husker Softball team has produced more Academic All-Americans than any other softball program.

LUNCH AT THE LEWIS TRAINING TABLE

We take a break from learning about all of the resources and benefits we offer our student-athletes to let you experience one benefit itself. We will eat lunch at the Lewis Training Table, a buffet-style service that offers lunch and dinner daily to all of our student-athletes. Please be advised per NCAA rules, you must pay cash for your meal(s).

 STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Nebraska was the first collegiate athletic department to have a strength and conditioning department, highlighting our commitment to helping our student-athletes reach their full athletic potential. Our strength and conditioning staff will lay out our plan to optimize your performance, a plan that is specifically tailored to the physical requirements of playing softball.

 NEBRASKA ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE LAB

At Nebraska, we not only provide current resources to help our student-athletes reach their full potential, we spend a considerable amount of effort researching new ways we can aide in both the mental and physical development in our first-of-its-kind Nebraska Athletic Performance lab.

DINNER AT THE LEWIS TRAINING TABLE

We return to the Lewis Training Table for dinner. Per NCAA rules, you must pay cash for your meal(s).

 NIGHT AT THE GORDON

After a full day of learning about all of the reasons why There Is No Place Like Nebraska, it's time for some fun and games inside the Alex Gordon Training Complex. Widely regarded as the best indoor practice facility in college softball, the facility is named in honor of former Husker All-American Alex Gordon, a three-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove Award winner for the Kansas City Royals.

SATURDAY

LUNCH AT THE LEWIS TRAINING TABLE

We return to the Lewis Training Table for lunch on Saturday. Per NCAA rules, you must pay cash for your meal(s).

 NEBRASKA FOOTBALL GAME

As your visit nears its end, it's time for the biggest and loudest reminder of the excitement surrounding Nebraska's student-athlete experience. You will be a part of an NCAA record, as Memorial Stadium has been sold out every game since 1962, the longest sellout streak in college football history.
