Nebraska leads the Big Ten Conference and ranks second in NCAA Division I with 376 (and counting) College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans, an honor that recognizes student-athletes for their achievements in athletics, academics and the community, reflecting a longstanding history of providing excellent academic services and support.
So far in 2025-26, three Huskers have earned CSC Academic All-America awards, marking the 56th consecutive year that Nebraska has produced at least one Academic All-American. Bergan Reilly (volleyball) was named the sport's Academic All-American of the Year while capturing first-team honors for the second straight season. Gena Jorgenson added first-team All-America honors of her own on her way to becomin the first two-time Academic All-America swimmer in Husker history. NCAA still rings champion Asher Cohen also claimed first-team Academic All-America honors while joining Axelina Johansson as Nebraska's Outstanding Student-Athletes across all sports for 2025-26.
The Huskers claimed 11 CSC Academic All-America awards in 2024-25, marking the 55th consecutive year that Nebraska has produced at least one Academic All-American. Bergen Reilly and Lexi Rodriguez (volleyball), Jordyn Bahl (softball), Axelina Johansson (women's track and field) and Micaylon Moore and Tyus Wilson (men's track and field) earned first-team CSC Academic All-America honors for the Huskers, while Merritt Beason (volleyball), Asher Cohen (men's gymnastics) and Till Steinforth (men's track and field) added second-team honors. Gena Jorgenson (swimming and diving) and Taylor Christopulos (men's gymnastics) contributed third-team Academic All-America honors for the Huskers in 2024-25.
Men's track and field athlete Micaylon Moore also captured Nebraska's nation-leading 19th NCAA Impact Award in 2026 (formerly known as the Today's Top Ten Award), the most prestigious award presented to the best and brightest student-athletes annually. Women's track and field student-athlete Angela Mercurio was named the NCAA Woman of the Year in 2020, while former Husker men's gymnast Anton Stephenson added an NCAA Impact Award of his own in 2019.
