Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska men's gymnastics team named 15 current and former gymnasts to the 2010 Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll, which recognizes a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester.
Stefan Wallof headlines the group of stellar student-athletes, as he completed his final semester at Nebraska with a perfect 4.0 average. Wallof, who graduated in May with a degree in civil engineering, has been named to the honor roll each of his eight semesters at Nebraska.
Senior Josh Rusler has also been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor eight-consecutive times in his career. Rusler is on track to graduate in August with a broadcasting degree. Seniors Kyle Shanahan and Tony Maras are repeat selections, as Shanahan has earned a spot on the honor roll six times and Maras has been honored five times.
Former Husker James Mauldin, who graduated in May with a communications studies degree, earned his third-consecutive spot on the Big 12 Honor Roll. Nine other current Huskers were named to the honor roll, including Cory Baumgarten, Wyatt Baier, Matthew Forrest, Ben Hall, Andreas Hofer, David Jacobs, Michael Killeen, Mark Ringle and Gabe Sanchez. Will Eastman, who joined the Husker team for the spring semester, earned his first mention on the Big 12 honor roll.
A total of 328 Nebraska student-athletes earned at least a 3.0 GPA during the spring semester.
