2012 (Senior)
After a decorated career as a Husker gymnast, senior Andreas Hofer capped his career as a leader for Nebraska in 2012.

A native of Heidelberg, Germany, Hofer added to his successful career as a Husker. Hofer captured four individual event titles as a senior, winning the all-around (82.20) Jan. 22 against Air Force, while claiming a pair of high bar crowns at Iowa (14.40) on Feb. 11 and against Arizona State (14.65) on March 4. He added a parallel bars title with a 14.65 on Senior Night against Iowa on March 24.

In his last postseason as a Husker, Hofer was at his best in the vault competition at the Big Ten Championships, where he scored a 14.60 on the event. At the NCAA Championships, Hofer made it to the individual semifinals, where he competed in the high bar competiton and posted a 14.30.

Hofer also was a standout academically, earning academic All-Big Ten honors. He also claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12.  

2011 (Junior)
Hofer continued to improve as one of the nation's top all-arounders as a junior in 2011. He tied for 11th (87.20) at the NCAA All-Around Finals, by posting his second-highest score of the season and third best of his career. Hofer showed a five spot improvement from his 16th-place all-around showing (83.45) as a sophomore at the NCAA Championships in 2010.

Hofer produced career-high scores on five events in his second season at Nebraska, while capturing five individual titles on the year. He captured his lone all-around title of the season and second of his career in Nebraska's home opener against Air Force on Jan. 30. He added individual titles on both floor exercise (14.75) and high bar (14.45) against the Falcons. Hofer added a second high bar title at Iowa (14.40) on Feb. 19, despite missing both the floor exercise and vault competitions because of the flu. It marked the first and only all-around competition that Hofer has missed in his first two seasons at Nebraska.

Hofer won his final event crown of the year with a 14.70 on parallel bars at Ohio State on March 12. He capped his junior season with a career-high 14.90 on parallel bars at the NCAA Championships. He posted a pair of career bests (floor, 15.10; pommel horse, 14.10) in NU's triangular with Oklahoma and Illinois-Chicago on Feb. 13. He added a career high with a 14.95 against Stanford on March 6, before notching a career-high-matching 14.55 on still rings at the 2011 NCAA Team Qualifier on April 14.

2010 (Sophomore)
In his first season at Nebraska, Hofer ended the 2010 season as one of the most successful first-year gymnasts in Husker history. Hofer maintained a constant rating within the top-20 vaulters in the nation throughout the regular season and ranked 18th on parallel bars heading into the 2010 NCAA Championships. In NU's final regular-season competition, Hofer set a then-Nebraska record with an 88.40 all-around score. Hofer earned three event titles on the year, including one vault, one parallel bars and one all-around title. He finished 16th in the individual all-around competition at the 2010 NCAA Championships with an 83.45.

Hofer also excelled in the classroom, claiming Scholastic All-America honors from the College Gymnastics Association. He was also a two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Before Nebraska
Hofer joined the Nebraska gymnastics team as a sophomore in 2009-10, after accumulating vast international experience in his home country of Germany. As a junior competitor at Helmholtz Gymnasium Heidelberg, Hofer was the 2004 German vault champion and the 2005 German floor champion. He also earned two third-place finishes in the all-around at the 2003 and 2005 German Championships. For three years following his junior career (2006-08), Hofer competed for the extended National Team of Germany. He also competed with his club team in Germany in the 1 Bundeslinga, which is the highest gymnastics league in Germany.

Personal
The son of Dieter and Christa Hofer, Andreas was born Jan. 18, 1987, in Heidelberg, Germany. Andreas has an older brother, Sebastian, and a younger sister, Maria. An international business major at Nebraska, Hofer earned academic All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2012, after claiming first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades in 2011. A CGA Scholastic All-American in 2010, Hofer captured spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12 and 2012-13. He was also a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
