2014 (Senior)
Mark Ringle did not see any action during his final season as a Husker after suffering from a wrist injury in the preseason.

Ringle continued to demonstrate leadership for NU in the classroom throughout the year. The San Ramon, Calif., native earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the third straight year and was also named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for both semesters of the 2013-14 year.

2013 (Junior)
After suffering a late-season injury as a sophomore in 2012, Mark Ringle has returned to the Huskers eager to provide consistent scores on four events.

Elected as one of four co-captains by his teammates, Ringle provides steady leadership for the Huskers.

“Mark epitomizes what a captain is,” Nebraska Coach Chuck Chmelka said. “He does all the right things.”

2012 (Sophomore)
Ringle competed on floor, parallel bars and high bar as a sophomore. He earned a spot in NU’s parallel bars lineup at every competition during the season, including a career-best 15.05 to capture the event title against Arizona State on March 4, 2012.

Ringle competed 10 times on high bar, providing the Huskers with three scores better than 14.00 during the season. He also competed on the floor exercise during each of the Huskers’ regular-season meets, including a career-high 14.75 on the event against Iowa on March 24.

He capped his second season at Nebraska by competing on parallel bars and high bar at both the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa, and the NCAA Team Qualifiers in Norman, Okla. He posted an 11.70 on parallel bars and a 14.05 on high bar at the Big Ten Championships and a 14.20 in both events at the NCAA Team Qualifiers.

A strong performer in the classroom, Ringle was one of eight Huskers to earn academic All-Big Ten honors. He also earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll both semesters. 

2011 (Redshirt Freshman)
Ringle provided consistent contributions on four events (floor, vault, parallel bars, high bar) for the Huskers throughout 2011. The San Ramon, Calif., native competed in the floor exercise in every event during the season, including a season-best 14.60 against Oklahoma and Illinois-Chicago on Feb. 13. He produced five scores above 14.30 on floor during the season. Ringle added a career-high 14.40 on high bar against Oklahoma and Illinois-Chicago.

Also an explosive vaulter, Ringle notched a season-best 15.80 against future Big Ten foes Minnesota and Iowa on March 19 at the Devaney Center to close the regular season. He added a season-high 14.60 on parallel bars at the 2011 NCAA Team Qualifier in Columbus, Ohio. He produced five scores of better than 14.00 on parallel bars during the season.

Ringle competed on all four of his events at the 2011 NCAA Championships, posting a 15.45 on vault, a 14.60 on parallel bars, a 13.90 on floor exercise and a 13.85 on high bar to help the Huskers to a 10th-place team finish at nationals.

In the classroom, Ringle claimed first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades and earned his third consecutive appearance on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the fall of 2010.

2010 (Redshirt)
Ringle redshirted during his first season at Nebraska. In the classroom, he earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2009-10. 

Before Nebraska
Ringle competed at West Coast Olympic Gymnastics Academy in Pleasanton, Calif. He earned a spot on the Region 1 Select Team in 2008 and was a three-time Junior Olympic qualifier. Ringle held Region 1 rankings of eighth in the all-around, second on parallel bars and third on vault in 2008. Despite being limited by injuries, he ranked 46th nationally in the all-around.

Ringle graduated from California High School with high honors in 2009, and was a three-time Scholastic All-American. He was also the John and Wesley Nygren Memorial Scholarship recipient.

Personal
The son of Doug and Maggie Ringle, Mark was born Oct. 29, 1990. Mark is the youngest of four children. He has two older sisters, Vicki and Stephanie, and one older brother, Matthew. Mark is a nutrition and health sciences major at Nebraska, and aspires to be an orthopaedic surgeon. 

A solid performer in the classroom, Ringle was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2013. He earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012, 2013 and 2014 after claiming first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades in 2011. He is a six-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, after claiming three spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
