Memorial Stadium saw another decade of renovation in the 1990s. In 1994, Nebraska introduced HuskerVision and became the first college-only venue to install instant replay boards. 1997 marked the start of a two-year stadium improvement project which includes the west stadium skyboxes, a new press box, and revamped concessions and restrooms.

A small section of seats in the southeast corner of the stadium collapsed before the 1993 season. The entire stadium was checked for stability before Memorial Stadium welcomed fans for the 1993 season.
