During the 1930s, Memorial Stadium established itself as the permanent home of Nebraska Football. Throughout the 1930s the University began talks of stadium additions that would enhance the experience for student-athletes, coaches, and fans. Sam Francis (#38) was a crowd favorite at Memorial Stadium as both a football athlete and National Champion shot puter.
