Huskers Announce Men’s Gym Schedule

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team and Head Coach Chuck Chmelka announced their 2026 schedule, which consists of four home meets. One of those four home meets is the Big Ten Championships. The team announced this on Monday, Oct. 27.

The Huskers will start their season at the Rocky Mountain Open in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m.

After taking a week off, Nebraska will then head to Ohio State to begin Big Ten Conference action. The Huskers will go against the Buckeyes on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m.

NU will then compete at home for the first time this season against Penn State at the Devaney Center on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 4 p.m.

The Huskers will again host a meet against Greenville, Simpson and William & Mary at the Devaney Center. The meet will take place Saturday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m.

Several individual Husker gymnasts will be chosen to compete at the annual USA Gymnastics Winter Cup in Louisville, Ky. The meet occurs on Feb. 20-22 at 6 p.m.

The team will travel to Oklahoma to compete against the Sooners on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m.

The Big Red will hit the road to compete against Simpson and Greenville on Saturday, March 7, at 4 p.m.

Nebraska then faces Illinois at home at the Devaney Center on Saturday, March 14, at 4 p.m., before heading to Michigan to face the reigning NCAA champions at their last regular-season meet on Sunday, March 22, at 1 p.m.

Postseason competition will begin on April 3, as the Huskers host the Big Ten Championships at home on April 3-4. The times for Big Ten Championships are TBA. 

Illinois is set to host the NCAA Championships, with prelims starting on April 17 at 2 p.m. and finals being on April 18 at 7 p.m.

Nebraska welcomes back 11 gymnasts, including three All-Americans: Chase Mondi, Asher Cohen and Max Odden.

The Huskers also welcomed eight new freshmen to the team. The freshman class consists of Grant Bowers, Rome Whimpey, Wyatt Reynolds, Sam Rakita, Ty Roderiques, Sasha Shybitov, Tristen Nye and Ethan Cox. The Huskers look to make another strong push toward the NCAA Championships and a shot at the national title.
