Lincoln ? With the recent release of the men’s and women’s All-Academic teams by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the Nebraska track and field teams once again showed that their success on the track continues into the classroom.
For the second straight year the Husker women led the nation with 18 honorees, after producing 19 award winners last season. The Husker men added another eight selections, while Stanford led the way with 12 honorees.
The Huskers were led by Natalie Willer, Nicholas Gordon and Bjorn Barrefors, all of which were previously honored as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or the NCAA Division I Outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event.
