Lincoln-- The Nebraska women's gymnastics team continues preparations for the 2010 season with intrasquad meets on Friday, Nov. 20, at Mable Lee Hall at 6 p.m., and Sunday, Dec.6 at 4 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Both events are free and open to the public.
The Huskers will perform routines on every event in Olympic order, beginning with vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise for the Dec. 6 Intrasquad.
Nebraska returns eight letterwinners, including two-time All-American Kylie Stone. Nebraska boasts All-Big 12 selections Erin Davis and Kathryn Howard, as well as 2009 Big 12 Newcomer-of-the-Year Lora Evenstad. NU also returns Maria Scaffidi, Brittnee Habbib, Kristin Fyffe and Kassandra Nathe. Transfer Maddie Steinauer and freshmen Hannah Bower, Janelle Giblin and Brittany Skinner will also make their Husker debuts.
The Huskers open the 2010 season on Jan. 8 at Washington. Nebraska then opens its home schedule against Minnesota and Illinois on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. NU plays host to the 2010 Big 12 Championships.
