2010 • Freshman Season
Bowerplayed a key role as a reserve competitor for the Huskers in 2010. Although she did not see competition, her encouragement and support helped the Huskers achieve great success in 2010.

 

Before Nebraska
Bower competed for coach Wendy Thompson.  She was the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Female High School Athlete of the Year in 2008 in addition to being inducted into the Colorado Sports Women's Hall of Fame. Bower was named the Colorado Sports Woman Gymnast of the Year for three straight years, from 2006-2008. She was honored as the Denver Post Gymnast of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Bower was the first 5A three-time state all-around gymnastics champion in Colorado. She took two state vault championships in her high school career (2005, 2007), two beam championships (2005, 2007) and three floor championships (2005, 2006, 2008). Bower was also a member of the USA National TOPS Gymnastics Team in 2001. She earned All-Front Range League Gymnastics Honors from 2005 to 2008. In addition, she was a member of her high school's track and diving teams, receiving All-Front Range Conference Honors (2006-2009) and All-State First-Team accolades in track (2006-2009), and All-State Honors in diving (2006).

Personal
Hannah Bower was born in Cody, Wyo. She is the daughter of Mark and Annie Bower and has two sisters, Elizabeth and Michal. A 2009 graduate of Loveland High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society.

Bower chose Nebraska over Penn State and Iowa.
