The Nebraska softball team hit their way through Saturday's games at the Augustana Tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Huskers needed just five innings in a 13-1 win over South Dakota State. St. Cloud State put up a fight in its 3-2 loss to NU before the Huskers, who improved to 10-4 in the fall, wrapped up the day's action with a 9-1 win over Augustana College. <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska will conclude the fall season Sunday, Sept. 28, when they play South Dakota, North Dakota and North DakotaState.

NU 13, SDSU 1:
Sheena Lawrick went 2-for-2, including a homer, four runs scored and three RBIs, leading the Huskers to a 13-1 win over South Dakota State Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Leading off the Huskers in the first inning was Nicole Trimboli who tripled to set the rhythm for the game. Jessica Yoachim hit an RBI single, driving in Trimboli to put Nebraska up 1-0. Lawrick followed with an RBI triple, but had to wait through two batters to be driven in by senior catcher Brittney Yolo.
Devin Porter hit an RBI single in the second to drive in Anne Steffan who reached on a single then stole second base. With two outs Lawrick crushed a two-run homer to put Nebraska up 5-0. South DakotaState squeezed out one run in the third inning. SDSU's losing pitcher, Emily Paolassol, threw four innings, surrendering 12 hits and nine runs.
In the third inning, the Huskers scored three more runs to increase their lead by eight. Outfielder Trisha Tannahill hit an RBI double driving in Lawrick, who reached on a walk. Yolo followed with a two-run single to put the designated player Peaches James and Tannahill across home plate. Nebraska sealed the game with four more runs in the fifth inning. James hit a two-run single, scoring both Trimboli and Yoachim. Tannahill and Liz Lawhorn both added RBI singles to finish the scoring for the Huskers.
Ashely DeBuhr (3-1) threw a complete game, allowing just three hits and one run to take the win for Nebraska.
NU 3, St. Cloud State 2:
Nicole Trimboli hit two home runs, including the game winner, as Nebraska defeated St. Cloud State, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.
Reaching first on a fielder's choice and then stealing second, Sheena Lawrick scored Nebraska's second run of the day by stealing home.
Starter Summer Tobias took the win for the Huskers after pitching 3.2 innings. Reliever Peaches James stepped in after Tobias was injured in the fourth inning. James threw 3.1 innings and struck out eight batters to make the save.
Starter Nicole Webb pitched a complete game, giving up three runs and two hits, to take the loss for St. CloudState.
NU 9, AugustanaCollege 1:
Augustana scored the first run of the game, but was then silenced in the 9-1 Husker victory.
Peaches James hit a homer to put Nebraska ahead of the Vikings in the third inning. James threw seven innings and struck out 15 to take the win and improving her record 3-2. Sheena Lawrick scored three runs for the Huskers and went 3-for-5 in the game
On two outs in the third, Jessica Yoachim reached first on an error by the pitcher, who dropped the ball. Shortstop Devin Porter hit an RBI double, putting Yoachim across home plate.
In the fifth, freshman Jamie Waldecker hit an RBI single to right center to drive in Sheena Lawrick, who reached on a double to left center. Jocelyn Evans followed with an RBI double to bring in Waldecker.
In the sixth inning, Lawrick hit an RBI single to right field to score Porter who reached on a single to right center field. Waldecker hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field to score Lawrick. Nicole Trimboli completed NU's scoring when she hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in Yoachim in the seventh.
