Livi Abney is in her second season as a volunteer coach for Nebraska after helping the Huskers to an NCAA Regional Final in her first year. Abney helps coordinate the infield defense for the Huskers, in addition to assisting the coaches with scouting information.
Abney came to Lincoln after spending the 2015 spring semester at UMKC, where she served as an intern while fulfilling a requirement for her master's degree in higher education administration. Abney also served as the head softball coach at Shawnee Mission South High School for four years and as Director of Softball Operations for the Mac-N-Seitz training academy.
Abney earned her bachelor's degree in behavior science-family services from Northern Iowa in 2011. Abney was a second baseman for the Panthers for two years, after spending her first two seasons at Wisconsin.
