1987: Senior Season
In her final season as a Husker, Lori Richins earned NCAA All-American and GTE Academic All-American honors.  Richins was also named to first-team All-Big Eight and the Big Eight All-Tournament team.  Richins ranked sixth on the team with a .261 batting average, 40 hits, 23 runs scored, four home runs and 24 runs batted in for the season.  Richins had one of her best games of the season against Kearney State, batting in four runs.  Richins was also named to the NCAA Midwest All-Region team in 1987.

1986: Junior Season
In 1986 Richen earned NCAA All-American honors as well as GTE Academic All-American.  In her junior season, Richen finished as the No. 1 hitter in Big Eight competition with a .379 batting average and was tied for No. 4 with 11 hits in 10 games.  For the entire season, she posted a .297 batting average with 54 hits; six doubles; three triples; six home runs and 31 RBI.  During the 1986 fall schedule, Richins helped the Huskers post a 12-2 record by collecting a dozen hits for a .279 batting average.  She was chosen as one of the tri-captains for the 1987 season.

1985: Sophomore Season
In Richins' sophomore season she earned All-Big Eight and NCAA CWS All-Tournament honors.  Richins was also known as one of the best hitters in the conference, hitting .295, helping the Huskers to a second straight league crown.  During NU's 1985 fall schedule, Richins batted .256, led the team with six walks and a .467 on-base percentage, posted a .981 fielding mark and finished with a five-game hitting streak.  She is an outstanding student-athlete, posting a 3.57 grade point average in physical education, which earned her Big Eight, CoSIDA District and honorable mention All-American academic honors.  She and Amy Love were selected co-captains for the 1986 season by the team.

1984: Freshman Season
In her first season as a Husker, Richins posted a .952 fielding percentage with over 300 attempts.  She hit .188 last season and hit her first collegiate home run against Illionois State in the fall.  She hit .333 in the 1984 NCAA CWS and .250 in the reigonals.  Richins scored the tying run in the 15th inning of the Regionals which NU won in 18 innings.
