Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll (Fall)
2006: Season Outlook
Jordan Keen will redshirt in 2006 while rehabbing a back injury. Keen was the Huskers' No. 2 pitcher as a freshman in 2005. She did not participate in the fall season in an effort to rehab. The loss of Keen will be felt in terms of depth, but the addition of freshman Molly Hill will help fill the void. Keen hopes to return healthy and ready to contribute for the 2007 season.
2005: Freshman Season
Keen saw extensive work in the circle as a freshman ... was 9-2 with a team-best 1.57 ERA in 89.0 innings ... ranked seventh in the Big 12 Conference in ERA ... opponents hit only .237 against her and struck out 68 times ... tossed eight complete games and two shutouts ... picked up her first career shutout and the first by a Nebraska pitcher in 2005 when she blanked Valparaiso on March 11 ... tossed her first career one-hitter against North Dakota State on April 7 ... made her Big 12 debut against fifth-ranked Texas on April 2, allowing just one earned run in four innings ... won against Northern Colorado on April 21, allowing one earned run in seven innings ... began her career in grand fashion, picking up four consecutive victories before suffering her first loss ... allowed two runs (one earned) in the first inning of her collegiate debut against Texas State on Feb. 12, but responded by shutting out the Bobcats over the next six innings in a 9-2 NU win ... in the first tournament of her career, went 2-0 with a 0.68 ERA in 10.1 innings of work, including her first career victory over a ranked opponent ... picked up a win over No. 16 Oregon State in just her second appearance by pitching 3.1 innings of hitless relief with four strikeouts ... struck out a career-high nine batters in a complete-game win over Western Michigan on March 4.
High School
Keen posted impressive numbers in the circle while starring for Out of Door Academy in Florida ... three-time all-state selection and four-time all-area selection ... was dominant as a junior in leading her team to its first regular-season title ... as a junior, tossed six shutouts, six no-hitters, four one-hitters and a perfect game ... also recorded 300 strikeouts in only 122.2 innings and held opposing batters to a paltry .070 average ... finished her career with a 43-29 record, 0.85 ERA, 1,071 strikeouts, 13 no-hitters, 16 shutouts and one perfect game ... as the youngest member of the Canadian Junior National Team, was one of only seven players to participate in all three tournaments ... helped Canada to second-place finishes at the 2002 Junior Pan-Am Games and the 2003 Canada Cup Futures tournament and a fifth-place finish at the Junior World Cup in China, posting a 2-0 record.
Coach Revelle on Keen
"Unforunately, Jordan has been plagued by chronic back pain. She is using this season as her redshirt year to try and get healthy and get back to the pitching circle. Jordan has been a great teammate; encouraging and supportive, even though she is fighting through her own injury. She is finding ways to give to her team and her efforts are noticed and appreciated."
