Nebraska women's basketball will square off with some of the nation's best teams from the SEC, ACC, Big 12 and BIG EAST in a challenging non-conference schedule announced by the Huskers on Thursday, June 18.
Nebraska's 11-game non-conference schedule will be highlighted by a home battle with Texas A&M (SEC) at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Saturday, Dec. 12. The most recent meeting between the former Big 12 Conference rivals came in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, when the Huskers fought to a 61-59 victory in Corvallis, Ore. The Aggies, who advanced to the 2026 Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT), will make their first trip to Lincoln since No. 4 Nebraska defeated No. 12 A&M 71-60 on Feb. 6, 2010.
Coach Amy Williams and the Big Red open the regular season by taking on San Jose State (Mountain West) at PBA on Nov. 2. The game with the Spartans will feature the annual Sizemore Life Skills Sportsmanship Pep Rally with thousands of middle grades youth from around the state attending a mid-day Monday game following a 90-minute pep rally that will feature motivational messages from Husker student-athletes and coaches.
The Huskers, who will be led by first-team All-Big Ten point guard Britt Prince, stay home to clash with its first returning postseason tournament qualifier when they face Western Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 7. The defending Ohio Valley Conference champions finished 26-6 overall and took on North Carolina in the NCAA first round.
The Big Red complete its three-game season-opening home stand by facing North Carolina A&T (Coastal Athletic Association) on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The Huskers then hit the road for the first time to face Kansas (Big 12). The renewal of one of Nebraska's oldest women's basketball rivalries (87th meeting) will be held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Saturday, Nov. 14. The Jayhawks advanced to the 2026 WBIT semifinals and finished with a 22-14 overall record a year ago.
Nebraska's game with Kansas will mark the third consecutive season the Big Red will travel to the Pentagon, with the Huskers previously posting wins over South Dakota and North Dakota State. This season, Nebraska's roster will feature two-time South Dakota High School Player of the Year Ashlyn Koupal.
Koupal, Nebraska's first-ever McDonald's High School All-American, will be joined by fellow top-100 recruits Ava Miles (Kansas City, Mo.) and Maddi Stewart (Claremore, Okla.) in one of the best high school recruiting classes in Husker history. The freshman newcomers will be joined by senior transfer Edessa Noyan and 6-foot-9 redshirt sophomore Arek Angui transfer Arek Angui.
The five newcomers will join returning starters Prince, Logan Nissley and Amiah Hargrove, along with Kennadi Williams and Emily Fisher, along with the highly anticipated returns of 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Natalie Potts and graduate student Allison Weidner on the Husker 2026-27 roster.
After a brief stop back home to face Mount Saint Mary's (MAAC) for the first time in school history on Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Huskers will travel to Omaha for its annual clash with Creighton (BIG EAST) on Saturday, Nov. 21.
The Huskers return to PBA for a pair of games against Summit League teams Kansas City (Nov. 24) and Omaha (Dec. 5) before getting a glimpse of Big Ten Conference play (Dec. 5).
Games against North Dakota (Dec. 8) and Texas A&M (Dec. 12) will wrap up home non-conference play for the Huskers, before they journey to the Chase Center in San Francisco to clash with California (ACC) on Sunday, Dec. 20. The Golden Bears advanced to the 2026 WBIT quarterfinals and finished with a 21-15 record.
Following the holiday break, the Huskers likely will open their 18-game Big Ten regular-season schedule on Dec. 28 or 29.
