Outlook (2026-27)
One of three top-100 national recruits in Nebraska's 2026-27 freshman class joining Ashlyn Koupal and Ava Miles, Maddi Stewart capped her final season at Lincoln Christian High School in Tulsa as the 2025-26 MaxPreps Oklahoma High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

The 5-9 shooting guard led the Bulldogs to a 30-2 record and second straight Class 4A state title by winning her second consecutive Class 4A state tournament MVP award. Stewart, who committed to Nebraska in August and signed with the Huskers in November of 2025, was rated as the No. 80 recruit in the country and No. 16 shooting guard by 247 Sports. ESPN ranked has the nation's No. 100 player in the 2026 high school senior class.

As a senior, Stewart averaged 14.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, while playing for her mother and Lincoln Christian Head Coach Melody Stewart.

"We are so excited about what Maddi brings to the Husker program," Nebraska Coach Amy Williams said. "She is a winner! She is also a tough, gritty player who can shoot from outside and create off the dribble. As the daughter of a coach, she brings a high basketball IQ with her and a real desire to grow as a player and person to help her team win championships."

High School
Stewart finished her high school career at Lincoln Christian in Tulsa with a school-record 1,735 points. She averaged 14.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists while leadin the Bulldogs to back-to-back state titles as the Class 4A tournament MVP in both 2025 and 2026.

As a junior, Stewart averaged 14.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals. She shot 46 percent from the field and 82 percent at the free throw line for the Bulldogs, while eclipsing 1,000 career points midway through her junior season.

Stewart was the unanimous MVP of the 2025 Oklahoma Class 4A state tournament after getting 20 points and 12 rebounds in the state championship game.

A three-time first-team all-stater and two-time Pinnacle Conference MVP, Stewart was selected to play in the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association's All-State Games on May 30, 2026. Her mother, Melody, who was the 2025 Tulsa World girls basketball state coach of the year, was one of two coaches chosen to lead Stewart's Middle East team. 

Lincoln Christian made four consecutive trips to the state finals while winning its first two state girls basketball championships in school history during Stewart's four seasons as a Bulldog.

An outstanding all-around athlete, Stewart also compete in softball, track and field, and golf in high school. She was also a solid student who was a member of the National Honor Society at Lincoln Christian.

Personal
The daughter of Jerrod and Melody Stewart, Maddi has two younger brothers, Blake and Campbell. Maddi plans to major in psychology at Nebraska.

Stewart chose Nebraska over Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State because the Husker program provided a strong sense of belonging.

"Nebraska feels the most like home to me," Stewart said. "I believe in what Coach Williams has built and in her vision for integrating me in the program as well. The fan base is unmatched and it is clearly Nebraska vs. everyone. Go Big Red!"
