Colorado Springs, Colo. — The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team placed third with a score of 315.50 at the Rocky Mountain Open on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026.
Nebraska had four gymnasts record career highs. Those performances came from Nathan York on parallel bars (and floor due to the 2025 scoring change), Caden Clinton on parallel bars, Anthony Koppie on rings and Nik Tarca on pommel horse. Sam Rakita made his Husker debut on both floor and rings, Ty Roderiques made his debut on vault and Wyatt Reynolds made his debut on pommel horse. Max Odden placed third in the all-around.
The Huskers began the meet on parallel bars. Cole Partridge led off for Nebraska and scored an 11.75. York followed with a stuck landing and a career-high score of 14.45, earning a third-place finish. Clinton went third for NU and posted a career-high 13.60. Asher Cohen anchored the event with a 13.70. Odden competed independently and scored a 12.10.
After the first rotation, Nebraska recorded an event score of 53.50.
Nebraska’s second event was high bar, led by Partridge with a score of 12.50. Koppie followed with a stuck landing and scored a 12.90 in his first collegiate appearance on the event. Alex Nitache went third for the Huskers and earned a 12.85. Odden closed the rotation with a 13.75, finishing third on the event.
After two rotations, Nebraska held a team score of 105.50, placing third behind Oklahoma in second and Stanford in first.
The Huskers moved to the floor for their third event. York led off with a career-high 14.00, earning the event title. Rakita followed with a 12.65 in his Husker debut. Chase Mondi scored a 12.35, and Odden anchored the lineup with a 13.40.
Following the third rotation, Nebraska remained in third place with a score of 157.90. Stanford sat in second at 160.45, Oklahoma led with a 162.25, and Air Force was fourth at 151.80.
Nebraska’s fourth event was the pommel horse. Freshman Reynolds led off and scored a 12.30 in his collegiate debut. Clinton followed with a 12.65. Tarca posted a career-high 13.10, and York closed the event with a 13.30. Odden competed independently and scored a 10.80.
Nebraska remained in third with a team score of 209.25. Oklahoma led with a 217.05, Stanford followed with a 214.80, and Air Force stood fourth at 203.15.
The Huskers’ fifth event was rings, led by Rakita, who scored an 11.40 in his first appearance on the event. Koppie followed with a career-high 12.25. Cohen recorded a 14.00 to finish third, and Odden closed the rotation with a 13.10 in his first collegiate rings performance.
Nebraska stayed in third place after five rotations, trailing Oklahoma in first and Stanford in second, with Air Force in fourth.
Nebraska finished the meet on vault. York led off with a 13.85, followed by Cohen’s 14.00. Roderiques notched a 14.00 in his Husker debut, Nitache added a 13.65, and Odden competed independently and scored a 13.50. Roderiques and Mondi tied for fifth on the event.
Nebraska concluded the meet in third with a team score of 315.50. Oklahoma finished first with a 323.95, Stanford placed second with a 320.75, and Air Force finished fourth with a 302.10.
The Huskers will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to face Ohio State in their first Big Ten Conference meet on Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. CT.
