2026 (Junior)
Nitache competed in every meet for the Huskers during the 2026 season. He started his season off at Rocky Mountain Open and had a 13.65 on vault and a 12.85 on high bar. At the meet against Ohio State, he hit a 14.30 on vault, which was his career-high. He hit his career-high of 13.60 on pommel horse at the meet against Oklahoma. Nitache competed at Big Ten qualifiers and finals for the Huskers. During Big Ten Qualifiers, he had a career-high of 13.70 on high bar. At NCAA qualifiers, he competed on parallel bars for an 11.00 and high bar for a 13.366. During the NCAA Finals, he competed on vault for a 14.00, parallel bars for a 13.033 and high bar for a 12.833. Throughout the 2026 season, he claimed one title on floor and one title on the parallel bars. In the classroom, Nitache was named Academic All-Big Ten and made Nebraska’s Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2025. He majors in Advertising/Public Relations.  

2025 (Sophomore)
Alex Nitache was the only Husker to compete in the all-around at the Rocky Mountain Open.  Nitache placed second with a 77.60 and hit career-bests on floor exercise (13.45), pommel horse (11.30), still rings (12.45) and high bar (13.45). He also had a high score of 14.10 on parallel bars at the Ohio State meet. The sophomore didn’t compete again until the NCAA Championships, where he scored a season high of 14.50 on vault on the first day of competition.  

At the Winter Cup, Nitache snagged a silver medal on vault and eighth place in the all-around. His performance earned him a spot on the 2025 Senior U.S. Men’s National Team. Nitache was one of four new additions to the team. He was selected to represent the U.S. at the DTB Pokal Mixed Cup, where the team won gold. There, Nitache finished second on floor, silver on vault, sixth on p-bars and fourth on high bar. 

In the classroom, he was added to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team Member and the Academic All-Big Ten list.

2024 (Freshman)
In his first season with the Huskers, Nitache competed in three events for Nebraska, managing to take home an individual title on vault in NU’s victory over Penn State as Nitache put up his career bests on vault with a 14.85 and parallel bars with a 12.85.

Outside of the gym, Nitache was named to the Nebraska Scholar Athlete Honor Roll and Tom Osborne Citizenship team.

Before Nebraska
Nitache competed for Gymtek Academy under Head Coach Matt Henry. The Knoxville, Tenn. native qualified for the 2022 National U.S. Championships, where he prevailed to finish second in the all-around, and finished in first on vault in the competition. Nitache is also a two-time national team member, along with a 2021 U.S. National Champion. He is majoring in AD/PR and he is minoring in Entrepreneurship.
