Three Huskers Grab Bids for U.S. Championship

Colorado Springs, Colo.- Nebraska gymnasts Max Odden, Ethan Cox and Chris Hiser qualified for the U.S. National Championships on Saturday.  Three other Husker gymnasts — Grant Bowers, Chase Mondi, Cole Partridge and former Husker Chris Hiser competed at the qualifier for the United States Championships. Odden placed the highest in the all-around (78.80) and posted a second-place finish. He was followed by Partridge in 14th, Bowers in 20th (71.10), Mondi in 35th (48.831) and Hiser in 40th (40.30). 

Taylor Christopulos, Alex Nitache, Sasha Shibitov and Tristen Nye are all prequalified for the Championships in August. 

Floor

Odden led NU on the floor exercise, placing first with a 14.15. Mondi, who was a 2025 All-American on the apparatus, put up a 13.60 for sixth. Partridge had a 13.00 for fifth, Hiser came in 26th with a 12.60, followed by Bowers in 39th with an 11.95. 

Pommel Horse 

On pommel horse, Odden led the Huskers with a 14th place finish and a score of 13.55. Bowers scored 10.85 for 33rd, Partridge had a 10.40 for 36th and Mondi earned the 39th spot with a 9.60. 

Hiser did not compete on pommel horse. 

Still Rings 

Hiser led Big Red grabbing the second spot with a 13.65, followed by Odden’s 12.80 for the fourth slot. Partridge took 12th with a 12.00 and Bowers came just behind in 13th and Mondi placed 14th, both scoring a 11.95. 

Vault 

Hiser had a big finish on vault for fourth place and a score of 14.05. Mondi grabbed 14th place with a 13.681. Odden notched a 20th place finish with a 13.55. Bowers finished 22nd with a 13.50 and Partridge grabbed the 43rd spot with a 12.45. 

Parallel Bars 

Partridge topped parallel bars with a seventh place finish (13.10), followed by Odden in 14th (12.85). Bowers earned a 16th-place finish (12.55). 

Hiser and Mondi did not compete on this apparatus. 

High Bar

On the final event, Odden took the 12th slot (12.75), Partridge took 14th (12.45) and Bowers finished 34th (10.30). 

Hiser and Mondi did not compete on this apparatus.
