Nebraska Outpaced by West Virginia

Morgantown, W.Va.-The Nebraska rifle team dropped their second match-up against West Virginia this season, falling by a score of 4,704-4,596 on Saturday. The Huskers (3-10) posted combined marks of 2,266 in smallbore and 2,330 in air rifle.

Junior Katie Kostal paced NU on the day, shooting a combined score of 1,155 that included a team-leading 588 in air rifle.  Joyce Kim was close behind Kostal, firing her way to a mark of 1,153 overall. Her scores of 567 in smallbore and 586 in air rifle were the second-best scores in both disciplines for the Big Red. Janine Dutton led the way in smallbore for the Huskers on Saturday with a score of 570.

The Huskers will now have a two-week break to prepare for the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) championships in Oxford, Miss. on Feb. 26-27.
