Woltersdorf was the 2006 and 2009 women's state champion in Washington, as well as the top air rifle shooter in Washington in 2009. She attended Clark College in Vancouver, Wash., from 2008 to 2010 before transferring to NU in 2010.

Senior (2012-13)
Katelyn Woltersdorf emerged as one of Nebraska’s top threats in her final season as a Husker. The senior secured her spot as NU’s top smallbore competitor in 14 appearances, averaging a 575.7 on the range. She fired a season-high 583 against Army on Feb. 9 to earn one of her two individual titles in the event. Woltersdorf was rewarded for her efforts at the GARC Championships, earning honorable-mention All-GARC accolades in smallbore.
Woltersdorf was also Nebraska’s No. 3 performer in both air rifle and combined shooting. She led NU with a 590 in air rifle at the NCAA Championships on March 9, landing her in a three-way tie for a spot in the discipline final. She posted a 52 to advance out of the shoot-off and participate in the air rifle final, where she earned a 103.5 to finish sixth nationally on the event.
She also capped her career strong in classroom, capturing academic All-Big Ten honors for the second consecutive season. She also earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.
Junior (2011-12)
Woltersdorf was a leader for the Huskers in smallbore, averaging 572.62 in 13 appearances, which was good for second on the team. She ranked third on the team in combined scoring average at 1,147, while her air rifle average was 574.38. Woltersdorf finished off her junior season on a positive note, shooting a career-high 586 in smallbore at the GARC Championships. Her sixth-place finish led the team.
Woltersdorf earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012, as well as spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.
Sophomore (2010-11)
Woltersdorf appeared in a combined 11 meets in her first year at Nebraska, including seven performances in smallbore for the Huskers. Woltersdorf picked up her season high in smallbore against UTEP on Feb. 5, where she notched a 578 and captured her first-ever event title for the Huskers.
Woltersdorf claimed spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

Personal
Katelyn is the daughter of Byron and Lisa Woltersdorf and has one brother, Ethan. A textile design major at Nebraska, Katelyn earned her bachelor's degree in May of 2013. She claimed academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012 and 2013, and was a member of the CRCA All-Academic team in 2011. She was a four-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and earned a pair of picks to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
