Nebraska Baseball Gameday: April 17

Lincoln -- While the spring game is the focus of the early afternoon, the Nebraska baseball team looks for its first Big 12 series win of the season at 4:05 p.m., as the Huskers taken on Kansas at Hawks Field. Junior Khris Tate will look for his third win of the season today, as Nebraska took the opening game of the series, 11-7, on Friday.

Last night, Michael Mariot went eight innings, while Boomer Collins had three hits, including his first homer of the season. Mariot, who is now 4-4 on the year, leads all Big 12 pitchers with 35.1 innings in his five league starts entering Saturday's game (Friday's recap/highlights).

Nebraska is hitting .331 as a team over its last 12 contests, as Chad Christensen is hitting .417 in that stretch. Adam Bailey has continues his tear, hittting .396 with seven homers and 17 RBIs in his last 12 games.
