2011: Third baseman Cody Asche (pronounced ASH-ee) ended his collegiate career by earning second-team All-America and first-team All-Big 12 honors in his junior season • Led all starters with a .327 batting average and a .424 on-base percentage • Was the team-leader in RBIs (56), runs scored (46), hits (68), doubles (27), home runs (12), total bases (133), slugging percentage (.639), and walks drawn (34) • His 27 doubles ranked first all-time in school history at the time of his graduation • Finished the season with a team-high 22 multiple-hit games • Recorded three doubles, a school record for doubles in a game, and scored twice in a 16-4 victory over Missouri State on Feb. 20 • Scored a season-high three runs in a March 2 win over Nebraska-Kearney while adding two doubles and a RBI • In a doubleheader sweep of North Dakota on March 19, Asche went a combined 4-for-8 with three doubles, three RBIs, and three runs scored • Knocked in a season-high five runs while going 3-for-5 from the plate and scoring three runs • Was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in a 6-4 win over Oklahoma State on April 3, including a two-run shot in the fifth inning before producing the game-winning RBI with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning • Recorded a career-high four hits in four at bats, including two doubles and two home runs, and drove in five of the Huskers' six runs in a win over Baylor on April 30 • Finished the season going 8-for-13 in a three-game series against Missouri with four doubles and three RBIs.

2010: Asche was Nebraska’s starter at third base in 2010, hitting .311 with 10 homers and 58 RBIs in 52 contests • Named honorable-mention All-Big 12 while ranking eighth in the league in RBIs • Tied a Big 12 record with three grand slams, as he went 6-for-15 with three homers and 24 RBIs in bases-loaded situations • Led Nebraska with 33 two-out RBIs, the most by a Husker since All-American Dan Johnson had 37 in 2001 • Ranked third on the team with 19 multi-hit games and second with 16 multi-RBI contests • Enjoyed two hit streaks of at least 10 games, including a career-best 12-game streak from March 5 to 24 • Finished the year on a tear, hitting .390 (16-for-41) with three homers and 20 RBIs in his final 10 contests • Was 5-for-11 in the series sweep of Texas Tech, including a 3-for-3 afternoon on May 22 and a 2-for-4 effort with a homer and two RBIs in the finale • Went 2-for-5 with two RBIs against Creighton at Rosenblatt Stadium on May 18 • Was 4-for-12 with three RBIs at Missouri, including a 2-for-4 effort with two RBIs on May 15 • Had a monster weekend against Southeast Missouri State, hitting .385 with two homers, 11 RBIs and five runs scored, as he drove in at least two runs in all three games • Set career bests in hits  (three) and RBIs (six), as he went 3-for-6 with a homer and drove in a career-high six runs against Southeast Missouri State on May 8 • Was 3-for-11 with a homer and three RBIs against Kansas, going 2-for-3 with a homer and a pair of walks in the opener on April 16 • Was 4-for-13 with a triple and an RBI in three games at No. 20 Kansas State • Hit .385 (5-for-13) with two homers and eight RBIs at Oklahoma State, matching his career high with five RBIs on April 3 • Drove in five runs in two games against North Dakota, including an eighth-inning grand slam on March 30 to help NU overcome a 10-0 deficit • Saw his career-best 12-game hit streak snapped against No. 12 Oklahoma on March 26, but finished the weekend with two hits, including a double, in the finale • Hit .400-3-14 during the 12-game hit streak (March 5-24), including six multi-hit games • Hit .500 (6-for-12) with two doubles and five RBIs at No. 2 Texas, matching his career best with three hits while adding three RBIs in NU’s 6-5 loss on March 19 • Torched Houston Baptist by hitting .500 (6-for-12) with three homers and nine RBIs • Established then-career bests in hits (three) and RBIs (five) in the series finale against Houston Baptist on March 14 • Drove in three runs against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, going 2-for-3 with a walk and stolen base, but missed the final two games of the Rice Invitational with a hamstring injury.

2009: Asche split time with Jake Mort at third base, hitting .290 with a pair of homers and 21 RBIs in 43 contests • Totaled eight multi-hit games, including a pair of three-hit efforts, and was sixth on the squad with five multi-RBI efforts, as his totals in both categories led all Husker freshmen • Was above the .300 mark the entire season until going hitless in his final 11 at-bats to drop his average from .319 to .290 • Committed just four errors all season while making a combined 33 starts at third base and designated hitter • Drove in 13 of his 21 runs by hitting .308 in two-out situations • Hit .264 with a homer and 14 RBIs in 23 Big 12 games • Scored four runs in going 2-for-10 in three games at Kansas • Matched or set season bests in hits (three) and runs (four), going 3-for-4 with four runs scored in a win over Iowa on April 14 • Hit .500 (4-for-8) against No. 9 Texas, including a 3-for-5 effort with three RBIs in the nightcap on April 10, as he collected his first career three-hit game • Hit safely in all three games against Kansas State, going 3-for-7 with an RBI in the series • Enjoyed one of his best games of the year at No. 11 Oklahoma on March 29, going 2-for-4 with a career-high four RBIs, as he homered and doubled against the Sooners • Hit .375 (3-for-8) with two walks in the three-game series at Texas Tech • Went 2-for-6 with a stolen base and two runs scored in three games against Cal State Northridge, as he split time with Jake Mort on the weekend • Came off the bench to go 2-for-2 with a career-high two doubles against South Dakota State on March 4 • Was 4-for-14 with four RBIs at the Bearkat Baseball Classic • Went 2-for-5 with his first career homer and a season-high three RBIs against Sam Houston State on Feb. 28 • Had two hits in three at-bats and a walk against North Dakota on Feb. 25 • Was 3-for-8 in the UL-Lafayette series, including a 2-for-4 effort in the series finale on Feb. 22 • Played summer ball in Duluth and appeared in 10 games before breaking his hamate bone in late June.

Before Nebraska: Asche was one of the top players in the state of Missouri playing for Mike Rimmer at Fort Zumwalt West High School • Finished his three-year career holding records for batting average (.425) and hits (88) • Tabbed for Collegiate Baseball’s High School All-America team as a senior after hitting .512 with three homers, 25 RBIs, 15 doubles and 13 stolen bases • Established single-season school marks for batting average, hits (44), on-base percentage (.580) and slugging percentage (.884) in claiming first-team all-state recognition • Received second-team all-state accolades as a junior, posting a .424 batting average with three homers, three triples, nine doubles, 24 RBIs and 25 runs scored • Earned academic All-Gateway Athletic Conference laurels in each of his three years and was named a scholar-athlete by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
