Husker Wrap Up Regular Season at Music City Classic

The Nebraska bowling team will wrap up its regular season schedule this weekend at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn. The three-day tournament, held at Smyrna Bowling Center, is slated to begin at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, March 13, with six four-game Baker-style matches. The competition will continue on Saturday, March 14, at noon with six team games, followed by a bracket-style tournament on Sunday, March 15, starting at 8:30 a.m.

NU is one of 23 competitve teams, including Adelphi, Alabama A&M, Arkansas State, Central Missouri, Delaware State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Fayetteville State,Grand Canyon, Hampton, Jackson State, Kutztown, Minnesota State-Mankato, Morgan State, Nebraska, New Jersey City, Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T, Sacred Heart, St. Francis, St. Peter’s, Southern, Vanderbilt, and Winston Salem State. 

Eight Huskers will make the trip to Nashville, including juniors Kaleena Henning and Cassandra Leuthold, sophomores Kayla Stram, Jasmine Laugerman and Katie Ann Sopp, and freshmen Danielle van der Meer and Valerie Calberry

Upon completion of the Music City Classic, the Huskers will await a bid to the 2009 NCAA Championships held on April 9-11 in Detroit, Michigan. The NCAA selection show is set to air at approximately 6:00 p.m. Central on Wednesday, March 25, from an in-house studio at the NCAA national office.
