2010-11 (Senior)
Kayla Stram bowled in six tournaments as a Husker senior, competing in 11 team games on the season. Stram compiled a 187 average with her best tournament showing in front of the home crowd at the Big Red Invitational at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln. The Grand Rapid, Minn., native bowled two games for the Huskers, including a 268-effort that was the second-highest individual game of the tournament. Stram ended the tournament with a 237 average.

Stram also performed well in the classroom, earning first-team academic All-Big 12 honors. She also claimed her fifth selection to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

2009-10 (Junior)
Stram competed in 16 games during the regular season and finished with a 182.90 average on the year. Her best tournament came at the Greater Ozark Invitational in Springfield, Mo.,  when she produced a 200 average. Her performance during the season helped push the Huskers to an NCAA runner-up finish in 2010.

2008-09 (Sophomore)
During her sophomore season, Stram competed in tournaments for the Huskers. Her best finish came at the Morgan State Invitational, where she placed 12th with a 194 average. Stram also helped the Huskers to the 2009 NCAA title. On the season, Stram rolled a total pinfall of 2,009 over 11 games for a 182.60 average.

2007-08 (Freshman)
Stram showed a strong work ethic throughout her freshman season. Although she did not compete in any regular-season tournaments, Stram stepped up during the 2008 NCAA Championships. Stram rolled a 167 in her collegiate debut. A solid performer in the classroom, Stram earned honorable-mention NTCA Scholastic All-America accolades. She also claimed spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll both semesters of her freshman year.

Before Nebraska
Stram joined the Husker lineup after serving as the anchor on the Grand Rapids High School bowling team in Grand Rapids, Minn. During her junior and senior years, Stram was the MVP of her bowling conference. In 2007, Stram was named the Minnesota Junior Bowlers Tour Rookie of the Year and an All-Star Team member. She was also the 2007 Subway Challenge girls division champion and she competed at the Junior Gold National Championships in 2006.

Stram was exceptional in the classroom, graduating from Grand Rapids High School and Itasca Community College with highest honors before coming to Nebraska as a true freshman. She also earned the Presidential Education award.

Personal
The daughter of Martin and Donna Stram, Kayla was born on Sept. 17, 1988, in Grand Rapids, Minn. She has one brother, Kyle. Stram, a veterinary science and biochemistry major, earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2011, and was a five-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll member. She also earned honorable-mention NTCA Scholastic All-America accolades during her time at Nebraska.
