Van der Meer, who captured third-team NTCA All-America honors as a sophomore in 2009, bowled 33 team games as a senior for the Huskers. She competed in every tournament and produced 200 or better averages in three events on the year. The native of Hilversum, Netherlands, shined at the Big Red Invitational where she tallied 884 pins in just four games for the second-highest average (221) of the tournament.
Also a star performer in the classroom and the community, van der Meer earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors in 2011, and claimed spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall and Spring Honor Roll. In addition to her conference academic honors, van der Meer captured one of Nebraska's prestigious HERO Student-Athlete Leadership awards for her overall commitment to NU's award-winning Life Skills program.
2009-10 (Junior)
Van der Meer competed in every tournament for the Huskers as a junior. Her 179 regular-season average was dwarfed by the 219 average she produced in the 2010 NCAA tournament average, which helped the Huskers to an NCAA runner-up finish. She competed in 13 games for the Huskers at the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
2008-09 (Sophomore)
Van der Meer produced an impressive showing in her first year at Nebraska. The sophomore from the Netherlands captured third-team NTCA All-America honors while helping the Huskers capture the 2009 NCAA team title. She claimed two top-five individual finishes and four top-10 showings on the season. She began the year with a season-best third-place finish at the Warhawk Classic with a 191.70 average. Van der Meer then rolled a 201 average for sixth place at the Morgan State Invitational, before earning a fifth-place finish at the Holiday Classic with a season-high 209 average. She wrapped up the regular season with a seventh-place finish at the Music City Classic with a 196 average.
