The Nebraska men's golf team stands in 14th place after the first day of the Stevinson Ranch Invitational on Monday. The squad carded rounds of 301and 300 for a total of 601 over 36 holes.
Missouri currently holds the first-place spot with a two-round score of 565. Mark McBride of Missouri and Casey Harbour of Kansas both used a two-round score of 137 to stand in a tie for the individual title.
With rounds of 69 and 74, senior Blake Humbles led the Husker squad to finish day one in a tie for 12th place. Juniors Jim Troy and J.J. Sullivan shot a two-round score of 152 to stand in a tie for 56th after 36 holes. Junior Kevin Bryson is presently tied for 62nd with a score of 154. Rounding out the starting five, sophomore Chris Hartwig recorded a score of 156 and sits in a tie for 70th place.
The tournament will conclude with a final 18 holes on Tuesday scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
