Senior (2002-03)
Jim Troy saw action in every competition on the Husker fall schedule. His best outing was the Louisiana Tech Intercollegiate with a tie for 13th. He concluded the fall with a scoring average of 77.56 over 18 rounds of play. As one of four seniors, Troy will be expected to share a leadership role this spring. He has already stepped up to the challenge as he posted several low scores in the fall.
Junior (2001-02)
With a scoring average of 75.26 over 35 rounds, Troy played a key leadership role throughout the season. He tied with Blake Humbles and J.J. Sullivan for most rounds played. Troy notched four top-10 finishes including a victory in the Wildcat Invitational. He recorded a career-best low score of 70 in addition to a low score of 217 over 54 holes for a 10th-place finish at the Southwest Missouri Invitational.
Sophomore (2000-01)
Troy joined Seth Porter as the only Husker to compete in every round of the 2000-01 season. Troy concluded the fall schedule with a stroke average of 74.88, ranking third on the team. His best finish was in the Fairway Club Invitational with a 225 over three rounds to tie for 15th place. He recorded a final scoring average of 75.37. He had five top-25 finishes including a fourth-place showing in the Stevinson Ranch Invitational, the first top-10 finish of his career.
Freshman (1999-00)
Troy competed in 23 rounds with his season best in the Stevinson Ranch Invitational, when he tied for 12th place (75-73-76).
Before Nebraska
Troy was voted MVP four years in a row at Hinsdale High. He also qualified for the state tournament all four years and was selected to all-state his senior year.
Personal
The Clarendon Hills, Ill., native is the son of Dennis and Susan Troy...has one sister, Amy (33), and one brother, Mike (19)...is majoring in dietetics...was born on Nov. 30, 1980...his variety of hobbies includes listening to music, sleeping, watching television and doing Harry Caray impersonations...plays bagpipes...favorite golf course is Whistling Straits (Kohler, Wis.)...favorite golf club is the driver...favorite golfers are Sam Snead and John Daly...favorite professional tournament is The Masters.
