Huskers in 15th at Purina Classic

After the first round of the Purina Classic Monday, the Nebraska men's golf team stands in 15th place. The Huskers shot scores of 301 and 297 for a combined 598.

Missouri is currently in the lead with a two-round total of 570 (+2). Kansas is second with a total score of 572 after two-rounds on the par 71, 7,047-yard course.

Five players are presently tied for first place after shooting a 139 on the first day.

Leading the Huskers is sophomore Andy McCabe, tied for 11th with a score of 143 (74-63). Three strokes behind McCabe is sophomore Marty Smith who is competing as an individual. Smith is tied for 28th with a 146 total after two rounds. With a score of 147, Seth Porter is tied for 33rd. Tied in 68th place with a score of 154 are Blake Humbles and Kevin Bryson. Rounding out the NU lineup is Jim Troy, currently in 81st with a two-round score of 160.

The final round will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 8:15 a.m.
