Senior (2002-03)
Seth Porter notched his best finish of the fall in the final tournament. A three-round 223 grabbed an eighth-place standing at the Louisiana Tech Invitational. In the same contest, he carded a second-round 70 for a season-low round. He also recorded a score of 223 three times throughout the fall. Porter joins three other seniors with experience on the links. In the spring, he will be counted on to post low scores and lead the team in tournament play.
Redshirt (2001-02)
Porter redshirted during the 2001-2002 season.
Junior (2000-01)
Porter, the only upperclassman on the Husker squad, led NU with a scoring average of 73.97. He joined fellow teammate Jim Troy as the only Huskers to compete in every round. Porter was ranked in the top 20 of the Big 12 for scoring average for the entire spring campaign. Porter finished second at the Branson Creek Invitational thanks to a career-low score of 65.
Sophomore (1999-00)
Porter played in all but one of Nebraska's 12 competitions. He finished in a tie for second, one stroke behind the winner in the Purina/Missouri Bluffs Invitational with a three-round score of 208. At Texas-Pan American, Porter tied for fourth place (36-42-78).
Freshman (1998-99)
Porter split time in the No. 5 spot with Ryan Neitfeldt. Porter saw action in two fall tournaments, and tied for 29th overall at the 1999 Big 12 Tournament with a score of 224, his highest finish of the year.
Before Nebraska
Porter lettered four times in golf at Hastings High School under Coach Ken Fike. Porter was the 1997 and 1998 Junior Player of the Year and the Class B runner-up in 1998.
Personal
Seth is the son of Jeff and Susan Porter...is a business administration major...has two sisters, Samantha (16) and Mackenzie (14)... was born on May 7, 1980...hobbies are watching football and playing PlayStation...cousin Michelle played for the women's golf team...chose Nebraska over Kansas State, Iowa State and Washington because NU has a good team and it was close to home...favorite golf course is Lochland Country Club...favorite golf club is the 2-iron...favorite golfer is his dad, Jeff Porter...favorite professional tournament is The Masters.
