The Nebraska men's golf team finished 15th at the Purina Classic Tuesday, with a total score of 896 over 54 holes. The Huskers used a final round score of 298 to finish 15th. Over the two-day tournament, the Huskers shot rounds of 301, 297 and 298.
The tournament was won by Baylor University with a three-round score of 853. Kansas' Travis Hurst shot winning rounds of 72, 67, and 67 for a total of 206.
Nebraska junior Seth Porter led the Huskers with a three-round score of 220 to finish 30th, while sophomore Andy McCabe, who led NU on Monday, finished with a total score of 222 to tie for 39th. Meanwhile, sophomore Blake Humbles lowered his score by two after carding a 77 for both rounds on Monday. His three-round total of 229 tied him for 76th. Sophomore Jim Troy had the Huskers' low score of the day shooting a 71 for a three-round total of 231, which tied him for 76th. With a final score of 234, sophomore Kevin Bryson tied for 79th place. Sophomore Marty Smith, who competed as an individual, tied for 46th with a score of 223 (74-72-77).
The Huskers will finish up the fall season with the Greg May Honda/Baylor Intercollegiate in Waco, Texas, on November 6-7.
