The Nebraska men's golf team finished tied with Wichita State for 11th place Tuesday at the Ram Intercollegiate tournament in Fort Collins, Colo.
Colorado took first place in the tournament with a total score of 563, followed by Texas-Arlington who was three strokes back.
David Hearn of Wyoming took first place in the tournament with rounds of 69 and 67 for a final score of four-under par 136.
Monday's opening round was cancelled due to the weather, however 18 holes were completed later in the day.
The Huskers were tied with Sam Houston State for eighth place at the conclusion of Monday's round with a first-round score of 291. Leading the Huskers, was sophomore Kevin Bryson. Bryson tied for 28th place with rounds of 73 and 72 for a total score of 145.
One shot behind Bryson and tied for 34th was sophomore Jim Troy, with a final two-round score of 146. Blake Humbles and Andy McCabe tied with seven other golfers carding a 149 for 43rd place. Junior Seth Porter, who led the team in the previous two tournaments, shot a final score of 152.
The Huskers improved on last year's finish of 12th place and bettered its 1999 total of 599.
Nebraska will return to the links Oct. 9-10 in the Purina Classic, in St. Charles, Mo.
