Huskers Fall to Texas Tech 5-4

Lincoln -- The first day of the Big 12 Tennis Championships didn't produce any upsets, but it did provide heartbreak for the Nebraska women's tennis team.

The Huskers fell to Texas Tech, 5-4, in the first round at Woods Tennis Center Thursday afternoon. The Huskers led 4-2 after singles and were leading at one point in all three of three of the doubles matches. NU, needing only one point to avenge an earlier 5-4 loss to the Red Raiders, lost 9-7 at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to end their season witha 14-9 record. Seniors Lisa Hart (No. 2) and Adriana Dulic (No. 6), sophomore Sandra Noetzel (No. 1) and freshman Ndali Ijomah (No. 4) all picked up singles wins for Nebraska. Texas Tech, 12-10, advances to face top-seeded Texas in one women's quarterfinal match on Friday.
