1997-98: Freshman
In her lone season with the program, Kelli Clark contributed mostly on the doubles court for the Huskers. Clark put together a record of 8-6 during the spring with sophomore Gina Pelazini, her primary partner. All but one of the duo's 14 matches took place at No. 3 doubles, with the lone match at No. 2 doubles resulting in a win for the pair. Clark also found success with teammate Lisa Hart, going 2-1 at the No. 2 doubles spot. In singles play, Clark split the two matches she saw action in, both of which were at No. 6 singles. For her excellence in the classroom, Clark earned honorable-mention academic All-Big 12 accolades.
Before Nebraska
Clark played No. 1 singles for four years at Redlands High School under the direction of Ken Whitmer. During her prep career, she was a three-time league champion and posted a 203-7 career mark at Redlands. She was a nationally ranked youth tennis player. A team captain, Clark was Redlands High's Most Valuable Player as a senior.
Personal
The daughter of Donna and Ron Clark, Kelli was born on July 27, 1979, in Redlands, Calif. She has not declared a major. Clark has one older sister, Kirsten.
