Tim Lambert

Tim Lambert served as the volunteer assistant for the Nebraska wrestling program for the 2017-18 season.

Lambert worked primarily with the lower weight classes on the team, and assisted with the Nebraska Wrestling Training Center and summer camps.

In 2018, Lambert helped the Huskers to a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. Three Huskers earned All-America honors in 2018, including Chad Red Jr. (141 pounds), Tyler Berger (157) and Taylor Venz (157).

Lambert competed for the Huskers at 125 pounds from 2013-17, and compiled a 106-44 all-time record, including a 46-16 record in duals. He became the 27th wrestler to join Nebraska’s 100-win club on Jan. 29, 2017, when he pinned Indiana’s Elijah Oliver in 2:07.

In 2016-17, he posted an overall record of 31-8, including 13-3 in duals. He had nine pins, six technical falls and five major decisions as a senior. He was the Big Ten runner-up at 125 pounds, while making the Round of 12 at the NCAA Tournament.

Lambert qualified for the NCAA Championships in each of his four seasons as a Husker, and he placed in the top six at the Big Ten Championships all four years. He finished fifth as a freshman and sixth as a sophomore, before posting a fourth-place finish as a junior.

In addition to his coaching duties, Lambert continues to train as a freestyle wrestler at the Nebraska Wrestling Training Center. He placed third at 57 kg/126 pounds at the 2018 USA Wrestling Senior Freestyle World Team Trials.

Lambert graduated from Nebraska in May of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife. Lambert and his wife, Kiran, were married in 2016.
