Senior (2021-22)
Vanessa Bouvet (pronounced BOO-vay) not only jumped back into the Nebraska lineup in her fourth season with the Huskers in 2021-22, the big hitter who has called both Brunei and France her home during her college career moved to the top of the lineup during the fall season with a team-best 73.17 stroke average and four consecutive top-20 tournament finishes.

She made her 2021-22 lineup debut by tying for fifth with a 222 (75-72-75) at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Club in Manhattan, Kan. (Sept. 20-21). She followed with another top-10 finish by leading Nebraska with a tie for seventh at 220 (78-73-69) at The Molly Collegiate in Seaside, Calif. (Sept. 27-28). Bouvet's performance in California included a then-season-best final-round 69 (-3) at the Bayonet Golf Club.

Bouvet kept the low scores and top-10 finishes coming at the Dale McNamara Invitational (Oct. 11-12). She fired a 215 (-1) despite a 78 in the opening round. She stormed up the leader board with a season-best 68 (-4) in the second round before closing with a 69 (-3) on the 6,200-yard layout of The Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow. Her performance helped Nebraska to a runner-up finish in a 13-team field at the event.

She closed the fall with a tie for 17th with a 221 to help Nebraska to another runner-up team finish at the White Sands Intercollegiate in the Bahamas (Oct. 22-24). Bouvet's effort at the Ocean Club Golf Course at Paradise Island included a second-round 70 (-2) on the 6,415-yard layout.

Bouvet got off to a slower start in the spring by going 1-2 at the Big Ten Match Play (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) before settling for a 67th-place finish at the Tulane Classic with a three-round total of 245. However, she bounced back in a big way with a career-best 213 (-3) to tie for 13th and help the Huskers to a runner-up team finish at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (Feb. 27-28). Bouvet's effort in Arizona included an opening-round 68 to match her season best.

She added a three-round total of 232 (81-73-78) to tie for 70th at the Briar's Creek Invitational in South Carolina (March 14-15), before rebounding with her sixth career top-10 finish and fourth of the season with a tie for ninth with a 227 (75-76-76) in tough scoring conditions against a strong field at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational (April 15-16) on the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.

Bouvet closed her 2021-22 campaign with her 10th career top-25 tournament finish by tying for 24th with a 221 (78-71-72) at the Big Ten Championship at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh (April 22-24). After struggling in the first round, Bouvet stormed up the leader board with an even-par 71 in the second round, before closing with a strong final-round 72 (+1) to jump 12 spots into the top 25 on the final day of competition. It was her seventh top-25 finish of the season.

She closed the year with a strong 74.67 stroke average.

Junior (2020-21)
Bouvet competed for lineup time as a junior in 2020-21. A big hitter with international experience, Bouvet continued to work to improve her short game.

Although she did not make a lineup appearance for the Huskers in the spring, and COVID-19 protocols within in the Big Ten Conference prevented competition during the 2020 fall season, Bouvet was invited to compete at the 2021 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., May 3-5. Bouvet tied for fifth at 231 (78-76-77) with teammate Noor Ahmed, and both Huskers earned Symetra Tour MVP Invites into the Guardian Championship at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club at Capitol Hill in Prattville, Ala., Sept. 17-19.

Off the course, Bouvet claimed Academic All-Big Ten honors for the second straight season while adding selection to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for the second time.

Sophomore (2019-20)
Bouvet put together a 75.83 stroke average after competing in six rounds for the Huskers as a sophomore in 2019-20.

Bouvet had a strong showing with a tie for 26th at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (Feb. 23-24). She produced the second-best tournament total of her career (215) with three solid rounds (73-70-72), just missing her fourth career top-25 finish.

She made her first lineup appearance at the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. (Sept. 9-10), managing an 85th-place finish with three straight rounds of 80. She did not compete in Nebraska’s final three tournaments of the fall campaign.

Freshman (2018-19)
Bouvet added an international flavor to the Huskers as a freshman, coming to Lincoln from Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. She also added low numbers as she strived for more consistency in her first season of college golf.

Bouvet’s 75.79 stroke average ranked second on the team and as the third-best average by a freshman in Husker history.

She closed the fall with a career-best tie for second in the rain-shortened Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii (Oct. 31). In the lone round of the tournament, Bouvet fired a two-under-par 70 to finish in a four-way tie for second, just one stroke back of Sam Houston State’s Hannah Alberto.

Bouvet got her collegiate career off to an impressive start by tying for third in a 75-player field at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic (Sept. 17-19). She finished at 214, including a four-under-par 68 in the second round. Her performance on the second day of the tournament tied for the fourth-best round by a freshman in Nebraska history. Bouvet was tied for the tournament lead with two-time All-Big Sky golfer Tara Finigan from Boise State through 51 holes, after erasing Finigan’s seven shot lead to open the final round.

Bouvet tied for 40th with a 227 (79-79-69) at the Golfweek Conference Challenge (Sept. 24-26) in Wolcott, Colo. She was Nebraska’s No. 2 finisher at the tournament.

She was NU’s No. 2 finisher again at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo. (Oct. 5-7). She closed at 229 (74-79-76) in a tie for 50th, before adding another tie for 50th with a 222 (71-76-75) at the UNLV Collegiate Showdown (Oct. 21-23).

Bouvet opened the spring with a 239 (78-83-78) to tie for 76th at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 10-12), before helping the Huskers to a team title at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. (Feb. 24-25). Bouvet fired a 224 (73-76-75) at Westbrook. She tied for 72nd individually.

Bouvet notched her third top-25 finish of the season at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz. (March 15-17). She fired Nebraska’s best individual round of the tournament with a final-round 71 (-1) to close at 227 in a tie for 25th at the Longbow Golf Club. She ended the season at the Big Ten Championship by finishing 84th at 167 (83-84).
