She started the 2019 spring campaign with the best tournament finish of her collegiate career, tying for ninth with a 218 (72-72-74) in a strong field at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 10-12). Ahmed was the top finisher among the 30 Big Ten golfers in the field.

Her second-round 74 was part of NU’s best team round of the season (276), propelling the Big Red to their first tournament title since a win at the Mountain View Collegiate in the spring of 2014.

After a slow start to her season, Ahmed finished the fall season by tying for 17th at the rain-shortened Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii (Oct. 31). Her one-over 73 was her fifth straight round of 73 or better to close the fall.
