Senior (2015-16)
Cassie Deeg closed her Nebraska women’s golf career with the second-best career stroke average (76.31) in school history, trailing only All-America Sarah Sasse (75.89) in that category.

The four-year leader on and off the course from Hugo, Minn., closed her senior season with a team-best 75.38 stroke average over 29 rounds. A consistent scorer, Deeg's final 28 rounds of the season were 79 or better.

She closed her career by tying for 50th with a 225 (74-77-74) at the Big Ten Championships at The Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis, April 22-24. 

Deeg closed with seven career top-10 finishes including the 2013 Chip-N Club title. She is also a two-time academic All-Big Ten selection and was Nebraska’s 2015 and 2016 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner. She claimed a prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award in 2015, and is a three-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Deeg opened her senior season as Nebraska's No. 2 finisher at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational. She tied for 44th (82-76-79-237) at Colbert Hills in Manhattan, Kan., Sept. 7-8. She did not compete at NU's second tournament of the season at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge, Sept. 21-23.

Deeg returned to action for Nebraska's Chip-N Club Invitational at the Country Club of Lincoln Oct. 5-6, carding a three-round score of 221 (73-72-76) to tie for 14th. She added a tie for 37th with another 221 (73-74-74) at the Pinehurst Challenge in North Carolina, Oct. 12-13.

She closed the fall campaign with a season-best 217 (71-72-74) to tie for 65th at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Oct. 25-27.

Deeg opened the spring as Nebraska's No. 2 finisher in a tie for 42nd (79-76-155) at the Peg Barnard Spring Invitational, Feb. 13-14. She matched Haley Thiele as Nebraska's No. 2 finisher at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz., Feb. 21-22. Deeg tied for 53rd with a three-round total of 223 (71-76-76).

Deeg was Nebraska's top finisher at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz., March 11-13. She closed the three-day event in a tie for 20th at 223 (75-75-73) for the 12th top-25 finish of her career and second of the season. She settled for a tie for 54th in a strong 97-player field at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Hawaii Invitational, March 22-23. Deeg posted a three-round score of 233 (79-76-78) in Hawaii.

She produced Nebraska's top finish at the Silverado Showdown, tying for 60th (78-77-76-231) in a loaded 18-team field in Napa, Calif., April 3-5.

Junior (2014-15)
Deeg produced a 75.90 stroke average to rank second among the Huskers in 2014-15. She was also NU’s No. 2 finisher at the Big Ten Championships with her 41st-place showing (74-74-80-228).

Deeg opened her third year at Nebraska by tying for fourth at the Chip-N Club Invitational. She fired a three-round total of 221, including a career-best-tying 69 in the final round.

She closed the fall with her second-best performance when she shot a 222 (75-73-74) over three rounds at the Rainbow Wahine Invite in Hawaii, Oct. 22-23. Deeg tied for ninth with teammate Cassidy Stelzmiller to mark the seventh top-10 finish of Deeg’s career and her 10th career top-25 showing.

She built momentum heading to Hawaii with a tie for ninth at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo., Oct. 10-12. Deeg fired a 224 (78-73-73).

Deeg’s performance in Highlands Ranch followed a tie for 58th with a 235 (82-80-73) in a loaded field at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge in Vail, Colo., Sept. 22-24. She also carded a 234 (78-80-76) over three rounds to finish 46th in a talented 75-player field at Minnesota Invitational, Sept. 15-16.

Deeg opened the spring by tying for 48th (77-76-71-224) at the Westbrook Spring Invite, Feb. 22-23. She added a tie for 32nd (80-75-76-231) at the Clover Cup, March 13-15. She continued to climb the leaderboard and lower her scores with a season-best 219 (74-70-75) to tie for 29th at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., March 20-21.

She ended the regular season with a tie for 65th (80-79-80-239) at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invitational, April 10-11.

Sophomore (2013-14)
Deeg captured her first collegiate tournament title by firing a career-best 213 (72-71-70) to lead Nebraska to the Chip-N Club Invitational crown. Deeg defeated teammate and tournament runner-up Steffi Neisen (217) by four strokes, while NU notched the best team score (874) in Chip-N Club Invitational history.

Deeg earned Big Ten Golfer-of-the-Week honors for the first time in her career on Sept. 11. She earned her second conference golfer-of-the-week award on Oct. 30, after tying for fifth with rounds of 71 and 72 (143) at the wind-shortened Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown (Oct. 27-29).

Deeg claimed her third top-five finish of the season and her third Big Ten Golfer-of-the-Week award by tying teammate Katelyn Wright for second with a career-best-matching 213 (72-70-71) at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., March 28-29. Deeg helped the Huskers capture their second team tournament title of the season.

She added her fourth top-25 showing of the year and seventh of her career at the Ohio State Spring Invite, April 19-20, tying for 20th (77-77-78-232). Deeg added four other top-35 efforts on her way to finishing with a 76.16 stroke average as a sophomore.

Deeg tied for 30th with a 237 (76-83-78) at the Minnesota Invite, Sept. 16-17. She struggled at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invite in Manhattan, Kan., Sept. 23-24, tying for 50th (80-87-81-248) on an unforgiving course at Colbert Hills that surrendered just three rounds at or below par among 81 golfers over 54 holes. She was NU’s No. 2 finisher at the Hoosier Fall Invite in Greenwood, Ind., Oct. 19-20, tying for 30th with a 226 (79-71-76) on the par-71, 6,062-yard layout at Hickory Stick.

She opened the spring with a 220 (77-72-71) to tie for 33rd at the Westbrook Invitate in Mesa, Ariz., Feb. 23-24. She added a tie for 44th (81-75-156) to lead the Huskers at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invite April 4-5, which was cut short by lightning.

Deeg closed her second season by tying for 63rd (82-83-80-245) at the Big Ten Championships on the Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort in Indiana, April 25-27.

Freshman (2012-13)
Deeg played out of the top three spots in the Husker lineup in all 31 rounds as a freshman. She finished with NU’s No. 2 stroke average (77.71), which included the Huskers’ top individual finish at the Big Ten Tournament when she tied for 32nd (79-80-73-232). Her 79.00 spring stroke average led Nebraska.

Deeg tied for 36th (81-82-80-243) after qualifying No. 1 in her collegiate debut at the Chip-N Club Invitational. She followed with three straight top-20 finishes, starting with a tie for 20th (69-76-77-222) at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge in Wolcott, Colo., Sept. 24-26. Her opening-round 69 was a career best.

She added a season-best 221 (75-70-76) to tie for 12th at the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M., Oct. 8-10. Deeg produced her first career top-10 finish with a 227 (75-74-78) to take 10th at the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Invitational in Springfield, Mo., Oct. 15-16. Deeg closed the fall by finishing 58th (76-80-76-232) at the Alamo Invitational. Her fall stroke average of 76.33 ranked second among the Huskers.

Deeg opened the spring by settling for 76th (85-79-80-244) at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, Feb. 10-12, before tying for 64th (77-83-78-238) at the Westbrook Spring Invite in Peoria, Ariz., Feb. 24-25. She produced her best tournament of the spring by tying for 38th (79-75-75-229) at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz., March 9-10. She shot an 81 in a dual at Kansas March 20, before closing the regular season with a tie for 38th (79-82-79-240) to lead NU at the SMU/Dallas Athletic Club Invite, April 5-7.

High School/Amateur
The 2011 Class 4AAA state champion, Deeg joined fellow Minnesotan Steffi Neisen on the Husker roster. Deeg captured the 2011 individual state title while helping Stillwater Area High School to a runner-up team finish under Coach Michael O’Rourke. Stillwater added another runner-up finish in 2012, while Deeg took third individually.

Deeg was a five-time top-20 finisher at the Minnesota high school state championships, including a seventh-place finish in 2010, a 12th-place showing in 2009 and a 20th-place effort as an eighth-grader in 2008. Deeg was a six-time All-Suburban East Conference selection (2007-12) on the course.

Deeg was the 2011 Minnesota Golf Association Junior Player of the Year and 2011 Minnesota state champion. She was the 2011 Minnesota Match Play and Publinks champion. She was also the Minnesota Women’s Match Play runner-up in 2012. In 2008, she was the Junior State Girls champion. Her state titles qualified her for the National Junior Girls tournaments in both 2008 and 2011. Deeg was also an honor roll student.

Personal
Cassie is the daughter of Len and Katie Deeg and was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Oct. 1, 1993. Cassie has an older brother, Peter, and an older sister, Amy.

Cassie majorrf in finance at Nebraska before earning her degree in May of 2016. She was a three-time academic All-Big Ten choice. She claimed seven spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. Nebraska’s 2015 and 2016 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner, she was also a three-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team (2014, 2015, 2016).

She chose Nebraska over Illinois, Idaho and Missouri State.
