Sophomore (2014-15)
Yoorim Kang opened her third season at Nebraska in 2014-15 by shooting a career-best 238 (81-79-78) at the 2014 Chip-N Club Invitational at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Sept. 8-9. Kang played as an individual outside the Husker lineup, finishing in a tie for 45th overall in the 62-player field.

The sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, Canada did not make another appearance for the Huskers on the course during the fall campaign and elected to transfer to Albany before the start of the spring semester of 2015.

Kang came to Nebraska as a walk-on before the start of the 2012-13 season and appeared in nine career rounds.

Redshirt Freshman (2013-14)
Kang earned her first playing time as a Husker as a redshirt freshman in 2013-14.
A walk-on from Toronto, Ontario, Kang saw her first collegiate action at Nebraska’s season-opening Chip-N Club Invitational. She performed well, posting a 239 (77-82-80) over three rounds while playing as an individual outside the Husker lineup. She tied for 34th in the 75-player field.

She did not travel with the Huskers to the Minnesota Invitational, but earned her first career lineup spot at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational, Sept. 23-24. Kang managed a tie for 61st (84-88-84-256) on an unforgiving course at Colbert Hills in Manhattan, Kan., that yielded just three rounds at or below par to the 81 golfers in the field over three rounds.

Yang finished the season with an 82.50 stroke average over six rounds, including three in the Husker lineup to earn her first varsity letter.

Redshirt (2012-13)
Kang redshirted in her first season at NU. In the classroom, she earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.

High School/Amateur
A member of Team Ontario, Kang was a regular competitor in Golf Association of Ontario tournaments. She closed 2011 teaming with Meghan McDougall to win the Ontario Women’s Four-Ball Championship with a three-under-par 69 at Sleepy Hollow Golf and Country Club in Stoufville.

Kang added a seventh-place finish at the Juvenile Girls’ Championship at the Loyalist Country Club with a three-round total of 238. She added a trip to the quarterfinals in the GAO Junior Girls’ Match Play at the Barcovan Golf Club.

In 2010, she was a quarterfinalist in the Ontario Women’s Match Play Championship.
Kang was one of eight Canadians from Ontario to compete in the Can-Am Junior Team Matches in March of 2011 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
