Junior (2008-09)
A two-time NGCA Scholastic All-American and a two-year starter in the Nebraska lineup, Kate White enjoyed a solid fall campaign in 2008 before choosing not to return to school following the fall semester. White did not transfer to another school and posted a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester. 

White matched fellow junior JC Stevenson for NU's top individual stroke average during the fall season with a 75.87 average. The native of Waukegan, Ill., closed the fall with a tie for 11th at the Challenge at Wolfdancer in Lost Pines, Texas. She closed the 16-team tournament with a three-round total of 230 (79-77-74) as the Huskers' top individual finisher.

White's finish at Wolfdancer was her fourth top-20 performance of the fall campaign, which included a trio of top-10 showings. She opened the season with a three-round total of 222 (74-75-73) to tie for eighth individually while helping the Huskers to the Chip-N Club Invitational title.

She added her top placing of the fall with a 54-hole total of 229 (73-78-78) to finish in a tie for fourth at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invite. White's effort helped the Huskers tie for first in the team race at the end of regulation.

White contributed her third top-10 finish to open the season by tying for fifth with a 226 (80-72-74) at the McHaney/Morehead Invitational in Lubbock, Texas. She added a tie for 27th at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate with a 231 (76-79-76), before closing the fall season strong at Wolfdancer.

White entered the 2008-09 season with NU's second-best returning stroke average (78.41), and lowered her career average by more than a stroke (77.35) with a strong showing in the fall. In her career, White owns 13 top-20 finishes, including eight top-10 performances.

White displayed her ability to go low as a freshman by tying for the best round in school history with a 67 on her way to winning the 2006 Bronco Invitational.

Sophomore (2007-08)
White overcame a knee injury during the fall season to finish strong in the postseason for the Huskers. She closed the year by tying for 64th (233) at the NCAA Central Regional, including an opening-round 73 to match her best score of the season, and a final-round 74. She added a tie for 19th (242) at the Big 12 Championships at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., April 25-27.

White’s top performance of the season came with a tie for second (222) at the BYU Dixie Classic, April 1-2. She fired rounds of 73, 75 and 74 to lead the Huskers to a second-place team finish. She also finished third (234) to help the Huskers to a team title at the Bronco Invitational in Kuna, Idaho, Oct. 8-9.

She opened her sophomore season by tying for 18th (230) at NU’s Chip-N Club Invite, but suffered a knee injury that forced her out of NU’s lineup for the first time in her career at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Invite.

The injury continued to affect her game throughout the season. White finished 24th (245) in rough conditions at the Texas A&M "Mo" Morial in early March, and tied for 31st (157) at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invite. She added a tie for 33rd (240) at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invite and tied for 38th (227) at the Mountain View Collegiate.

Freshman (2006-07)
A GolfWorld Midseason Freshman All-American, White finished second on the team with a 76.94 stroke average, trailing only All-Big 12 selection Elli Brown.

White tied for 28th (237) at the Big 12 Championships in Waco, Texas, to help the Huskers earn their second straight NCAA Regional bid. She added a tie for 77th (241) at the NCAA West Regional in St. George, Utah.

White earned Big 12 Golfer-of-the-Month honors in October after winning the 2006 Bronco Invite. She led the Huskers to a team title in Idaho by posting a career-best tournament score of 213 that included a school-record-tying opening-round 67.

She added a three-under-69 to open the Mountain View Collegiate on March 24. White finished in a tie for 10th (217) in NU’s final regular-season tournament. She tied for 22nd (219) at the UNLV Spring Invite in early March that included a final-round 71, after opening the spring with a tie for 18th at the prestigious Central District Invite.

White opened her career by tying for 19th (236) at the Badger Invite in Verona, Wis., before finishing seventh (233) at NU’s Chip-N Club Invite in mid-September. She added a tie for 21st (153) at the Derby Invite that included a final-round 71.

White also earned NGCA Scholastic All-America honors and spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll following the fall and spring semesters. In the summer of 2007, White qualified for the USGA Women’s Public Links National Championships by taking second at the Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Ill.

High School/Amateur
White was a two-time all-state pick at Carmel High School. She posted third-place finishes as both a junior and senior at the Illinois High School Championships.

White, who was ranked 56th in the Golfweek/Titleist Jr. Rankings for the class of 2006, finished among the top three players at the Illinois High School Championships each of her last two years. She was also a PGA Junior Illinois section champion and finished in the top 20 at the national tournament.

As a senior, she won the regional title following a round of 69. She earned regional runner-up honors as a junior. She was also the conference champion as a sophomore. The Carmel High School Athlete of the Year as a senior, White was a four-time all-conference selection and a four-year letterwinner as a golfer. She helped the Corsairs to a regional title under Coach Brian Smithe as a senior. Carmel also earned a conference team title during White’s freshman campaign.

In addition to her success on the course, White was a successful student. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society. She was chosen to the high honor roll and was an IHSA Scholar.

Personal
The daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth White, Kate was born in Waukegan, Ill., on Nov. 25, 1987. She has two brothers, Garrett, and William. Kate chose Nebraska over Iowa State, Penn State and Illinois State. A history major, White carries a 3.896 GPA and is a two-time NGCA Scholastic All-American and was a first-team academic All-Big 12 pick in 2008. She is a five-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
