Outlook
After redshirting in 2003-04, Heather Gutschow will battle for playing time in a deep Husker roster.

Coach Robin Krapfl said Gutschow may be a year away from making an impact on the NU lineup.

"Heather is steadily improving and gaining some great experience," Krapfl said. "She is heading in the right direction and down the road she is going to be an excellent player for us, if she keeps working hard and improving."

Redshirt (2003-04)
Gutschow redshirted her first season at NU. She excelled academically by earning spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll both semesters.

High School/Amateur
An athletic and academic standout at Park Hill South High School in Kansas City, Mo., Gutschow graduated in 2003. She earned four letters in golf under head coach Larry Torgerson and four letters in tennis. She added all-state honors, district and conference championships and placed sixth at state. Gutschow carried a 4.0 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society and FCA.

Personal
The daughter of Jim and Pam Gutschow, Heather Christine has one sister, Kelsey (14) and one brother, Todd (24). Born on Aug. 7, 1984, she owns a 3.63 GPA but has not declared a major. Her father played one year of football at NU.
