Senior (2000-01)
Amy Roux was one of Nebraska's top competitors throughout her senior season in 2000-01. She was NU's No. 2 finisher at the 2001 NCAA Central Regional at West Lafayette, Ind. Roux closed the tournament at 235 (80-76-79) to tie for 29th individually, trailing only All-American Sarah Sasse's 226 among the Huskers. Roux helped NU to a 10th-place team finish among the 21 teams in the field, just missing a second-straight trip to the 24-team NCAA Championships.
Roux produced season-best tournament scores of 227 at the Alltel Husker Invitational (tied for seventh), the Shootout at the Legends (tied for 28th) and the Suxie Maxwell Berning Classic (tied for 14th). She produced five top-25 individual finishes on the year, including a 15th-place showing at the Texas Challenge and a tie for 25th at the Price's "Give 'em Five Fund" Intercollegiate.
For the season, she finished with a career-best 75.67 stroke average on the year. She improved her season stroke average in each of her four years at Nebraska.
In addition to her success on the course, Roux earned NGCA Scholastic All-America honors for her performance in the classroom, along with capturing her fourth consecutive first-team academic All-Big 12 award.
Junior (1999-00)
Roux ranked third on the team with a 78.74 stroke average and was a mainstay in the Husker lineup during the spring of 2000. She posted her best three-round score of the season at the NCAA West Regional in Tempe, Ariz., shooting an eight-over-par 224, including a low round of 73 on the tournament's first day. Roux's best finish came at the Oklahoma Invitational, where she tied for ninth with a seven-over-par 236. In Nebraska's first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, Roux finished with a three-round total of 321 to tie for 107th.
During the fall, Roux hit a hole-in-one (second round) on the 12th hole of the Big 12 Fall Preview at the Country Club of Lincoln, on Sept. 14, 1999.
In the classroom, Roux captured first-team academic All-Big 12 honors for the third time in her career.
Sophomore (1998-99)
Roux, who earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors, produced her best performance on the course at the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge. She fired rounds of 68-77-75 for a 220 total and a career-best fifth-place finish. Her opening-round 68 set the school record, which was previously held by All-American Sarah Sasse, who fired a second-round 69 at the 1998 Chip-N Club Invitational. The record stood until Stephanie Ruiz fired a 67 at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational in Manhattan, Kan., on Oct. 10, 2005.
Freshman (1997-98)
Roux turned in her top performance at the Colorado Invitational, firing rounds of 75-73-84 to tie for 16th place at 232. She also earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors for the first time in her career.
Before Nebraska/Amateur
Roux qualified for the 2000 U.S. Amateur with a two-over-par 72 at the Shadow Glen Sectional in Olathe, Kan., Aug. 7-12. She then advanced to the morning round of match play. She placed in the top four at all four state championships she participated in during her career. She won two Class A championships and earned all-state honors in all four of her varsity seasons at Kearney High.
Personal
The daughter of Bill and Susan Roux, Amy was born Aug. 26, 1978. She was a family science major at Nebraska and was a four-time first-team academic All-Big 12 selection.
