Senior (1990-91)
Lincoln native Alysen Madsen capped a solid Nebraska career as a three-time academic All-Big Eight selection and three-time Big Eight Tournament competitor for the Huskers.

In her final season at Nebraska, Madsen posted her top tournament finish of the year by tying for 21st at the Big Eight Championships in Columbia, Mo. Her three-round total of 254 helped Nebraska to a third-place team finish.

Madsen posted her best tournament score of the season with a 253 to tie for 50th among 101 players at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, after tying for 27th (259) at the Minnesota Invite. She opened the season with a tie for 32nd (172) at the Cyclone Golf Classic. She also competed at the Husker Invitational, the North/South Women's Collegiate Invitational and the South Carolina Women's Invitational.

For the season, she produced an 86.8 stroke average over 19 rounds, while closing her career with 84.7 stroke average over 80 rounds.

Madsen capped her career as a three-time academic All-Big Eight selection, earning second-team honors in 1989, 1990 and 1991.

Junior (1989-90)
Madsen was a regular in Nebraska's lineup as a junior, competing in 26 rounds while posting an 84.1 stroke average on the year. She produced the third top-10 individual finish of her career by tying for ninth (77-82-159) at the Mizzou Invitational to help Nebraska claim the team title. She added a tie for 15th with a season-best 242 to help the Huskers capture the tournament title at the Spartan Fall Invitational. Her effort in East Lansing, Mich., included a season-best 75 in the second round. 

Madsen added her third top-20 finish of the season by finishing 16th (245) to help the Huskers claim another team title at the Rio Rico-Hawkeye Invite.

She opened the season by tying for 30th (251) at the Hawkeye Invitational and tied for 52nd (252) at the Lady Buckeye Fall Classic. She tied for 65th (254) at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invite, before tying for 66th (256) at the South Carolina Invitational.

Madsen bounced back with strong showings at the Rio Rico and Mizzou Invites before tying for 27th (256) in her second appearance at the Big Eight Championships.

Off the course, Madsen captured second-team academic All-Big Eight accolades.

Sophomore (1988-89)
Madsen saw consistent gains in her game as a sophomore, improving her season stroke average to 82.6 while playing 18 rounds for the Huskers. She tied for fourth with a two-round total of 160 at the Huskie Classic and posted her second top-10 finish of the year by tying for sixth with a career-best 238 (81-78-79) at the Husker Golf Classic.

She carried the momentum of her strong showing at home to a tie for 16th (246) in her first appearance at the Big Eight Championships in Ames, Iowa. Madsen also tied for 28th (249) at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, while tying for 31st (250) at the USF Summerfield Classic.

Off the course, Madsen earned second-team academic All-Big Eight honors.

Freshman (1987-88)
Madsen made an instant impact in Nebraska's lineup as a true freshman in 1987-88. The Lincoln native competed in 17 rounds and posted an 85.6 stroke average on the year. She fired the best 18-hole score of her career with a second-round 74 at the Nebraska Invitational to finish with a season-best 240.

Madsen also competed for the Huskers at Iowa State, Iowa, BYU and the All-College Kickoff in the fall, before playing at the North Texas Lady Eagle and the Nebraska Invitational during the spring.

High School/Amateur
Madsen was a three-time all-city selection as a golfer at Lincoln East High School. She was also a member of Lincoln East's 1987 state championship basketball team.

Personal
The daughter of Hal and Susan Madsen, Alysen was born Sept. 10, 1969. A pre-nursing major at Nebraska, Madsen was a three-time second-team academic All-Big Eight selection. She was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
