Senior (1985-86)
One of three seniors joining All-Big Eight performers Kari Mangan and Jean Gilpin on the 1985-86 Husker squad, Nancy Steen was a solid four-year contributor in the Husker lineup. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native made two appearances in Nebraska's Big Eight Championships lineup during her career, tying for 22nd in 1985 and 29th (260) in 1986.

After opening her senior year at the Nancy Lopez Invite in Tulsa, Okla., Steen fired a season-best 78 in the opening round of the Alabama-Seascape Invitational, finishing with a two-round score of 166. After competing at the Iowa Invitational in Texas and the North Texas Lady Eagle, Steen fired a season-best 247 that included an opening-round 79 at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Okla.

Steen competed at the Kansas State Invitational before closing her career by helping the Huskers to a third-place team finish at the Big Eight Championships on the course of the Country Club of Lincoln.

She finished her career with an 84.88 stroke average over 67 rounds.

Junior (1984-85)
Steen saw the most extensive lineup time of her career as a junior with the Huskers, competing in all 29 rounds and posting an 84.76 stroke average. She opened the year with a season-best 245 at the prestigious Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Oklahoma, before adding a solid 255 at the OSU Cowgirl Invite. She fired a 247, including a career-best 77 in the final round of the UNI Panther Invitational, before managing a 168 in two rounds at the Kansas Invite. She notched a three-round score of 248 at the Mizzou Invitational.

She opened the spring campaign with a 257 at the Rayburn Country Classic, before managing a 264 at the OU Invite. She produced a 260 at the Illini Spring Invitational, before adding a 254 at the Purdue Lady Boilermaker.

Steen tied for 22nd (260) in the first Big Eight Championships appearance of her career, helping NU to a fifth-place tie in the team standings.

Sophomore (1983-84)
In her second season at Nebraska, Steen competed in 12 rounds and trimmed her season stroke average to a career-best 84.17. She opened her sophomore campaign with a career-best 239 over three rounds at the Lady Northern Invitational, including a season-best 79 in the second round. Steen followed with a 254 at the Mizzou Invitational, before adding a 248 at the Kansas Invite. She closed her sophomore season with a 279 at the South Alabama Invitational.

Freshman (1982-83)
Steen earned her first of four varsity letters for Nebraska by competing in nine rounds and posting an 85.0 stroke average as a true freshman. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native produced a season-best with a 254 in three rounds at the Iowa State Invitational. She matched that score with another 254 at the Kansas Invite, firing final-round scores of 82 in both tournaments to establish her season bests. Steen closed her freshman campaign with a 259 in three rounds at the Iowa Invitational.

Steen did not earn a lineup spot for the Huskers at the Big Eight Championships, when Nebraska claimed the 1983 Big Eight team title.
