Senior (1983-84)
One of Nebraska's top players on its 1983 Big Eight Championship team, Shelly Godeken helped the Huskers to a runner-up Big Eight finish in 1984 with her fourth-place individual showing in Columbia, Mo. Godeken fired a three-round total of 233 (80-75-78) to help the Huskers finish with a three-round total of 959, 20 strokes ahead of third-place finishers Missouri and Oklahoma.

Godeken produced Nebraska's No. 2 stroke average (80.74) as a senior while playing in all 27 rounds for the Huskers. Godeken and fellow All-Big Eight senior Cathy Nelson gave the Huskers two of the top players in the conference, while leading NU to team titles at the Kansas Invitational and the Wichita State Invitational during the season.

Godeken's senior season included a career-best 70 in the opening round of the Lady Northern during the fall season. She added rounds of 78 and 83 to finish with a career-best three-round total of 231 to help Nebraska to a fifth-place team finish at the 19-team event.

Junior (1982-83)
Godeken captured All-Big Eight honors while leading Nebraska to the Big Eight title as a junior in 1983. The Alma, Neb., native scorched the Quail Creek Country Club course in Oklahoma City for a three-round score of 237 (81-78-78), trailing only Oklahoma State's Janice Burba (233) and Husker teammate Cathy Nelson (234) on the final leaderboard. NU teammate Jan Stanard was right behind Godeken at 238, giving the Huskers three of the top four finishers at the tournament to power Nebraska's three-round team total of 958.

Nebraska outdistanced Oklahoma (962) by four strokes for the team crown, as the Huskers earned their second conference title.

Individually, Godeken continued to improve her scores throughout the season as the only Husker to compete in all 22 rounds, while posting an 82.05 stroke average.

Sophomore (1981-82)
Godeken was a regular in Nebraska's lineup after missing NU's first two tournaments. She finished third on the team with an 81.61 stroke average while playing in 18 of Nebraska's 27 rounds. She tied for 17th (250) with Jan Stanard at the Big Eight Championships, trailing only Cathy Nelson's tie for fourth among the Huskers. Godeken helped NU to a fourth-place team finish at the league tournament in Ames, Iowa.

Freshman (1980-81)
