Senior (1981-82)
A three-year letterwinner for Nebraska after transferring from Hastings College, Robin Scherer (Krapfl) continued her individual improvement as a senior. The West Point, Neb., native produced a career-best 82.14 stroke average over 21 rounds. Her efforts included a career-best 237 that included a career-best matching 77 in the second round, to post a top-10 finish at the Iowa State Invitational early in the fall. She added a 238 (79-80-79) for another top-10 finish at the Mizzou Invite, after opening her senior season with a strong 243 at the 21-team Susie Maxwell Berning All-College Kickoff.

Scherer struggled during the middle of her senior season before bouncing back with a solid 242 during Nebraska's spring break tournament. She added a 250 at the Sooner Invitational, but did not compete for Nebraska at the Iowa Invite or the Big Eight Championships.

Scherer improved her season stroke average by 2.26 from her junior to senior season. She managed a 3.74 stroke improvement from her first season to her last at Nebraska. She closed her three-year NU career with an 84.22 stroke average over 65 rounds.

Junior (1980-81)
Scherer improved her season average by 1.48 strokes over her sophomore season, producing an 84.40 stroke average over 20 rounds. She notched a season-best 78 in the second round of the Mizzou Invitational, while adding a second-round 79 at Iowa State and a final-round 79 at the Sooner Invitational to close her second season in Lincoln.

Scherer opened with a 251 at the Susie Maxwell Berning All-College Kickoff, before adding a solid 162 in two rounds at the Iowa Invite. She competed for the Huskers at Iowa State, Kansas and Mizzou to close the fall season. She struggled at the Betsy Rawls Invitational and Rayburn Country Classic to open the spring portion of the campaign, before bouncing back late at the Sooner Invitational. Scherer did not earn a lineup spot at the Big Eight Championships.

Sophomore (1979-80)
One of four first-year players in Nebraska's lineup at the Big Eight Championships, Scherer was Nebraska's No. 2 finisher at the conference tournament in Lawrence, Kan. The Hastings College transfer finished 16th (246) at the league tournament with scores of 84, 83 and 79. Teammate Jan Stanard led NU by finishing 11th (241), while freshmen Lori Miller and Carin Roberts tied for 31st and freshman Connie Ernst took 37th, as Nebraska settled for a fifth-place team finish.

Scherer tuned up for the Big Eight Tournament by shooting a 159, including a career-best 77, in the first of two rounds at the Iowa Invitational. She competed for Nebraska in all 24 rounds as a sophomore, including a 248 in her debut at the Susie Maxwell Berning All-College Kickoff in Oklahoma. She added a 256 at the Lamar Invite.

Scherer completed her first season at Nebraska with an 85.88 stroke average over 24 rounds.

Freshman (Hastings College, 1978-79)
Scherer spent her first collegiate season as a basketball player at Hastings College, before transferring to Nebraska to play golf for Coach Jerry Fisher for her sophomore season.

Personal
The daughter of Robert and Marie Scherer, Robin was born Aug. 5, 1960, in Omaha, Neb. A business administration major at Nebraska, Scherer was a multi-sport standout at West Point High School in West Point, Neb., earning all-state honors in basketball as both a junior and senior. She was also a three-time all-area and all-conference performer in basketball, while earning all-conference and all-area honors as a junior and senior in volleyball. She was also a standout softball player for West Point.
