Freshman (1981-82)
Kimberly Davis competed in 24 rounds for the Huskers as a freshman in 1981-82, earning a varsity letter after posting an 87.08 stroke average on the year. She also represented Nebraska at the 1982 Big Eight Championships. Davis was NU's No. 5 finisher at the conference tournament, taking 27th (264). NU finished fourth as a team at the league tournament on the Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames, Iowa.

During the season, Davis competed either in the NU lineup or as an unattached individual at every tournament except the Missouri Invitational. She opened the season with a 254 at the Susie Maxwell Berning All-College Kickoff, before adding another 254 at the Iowa State Invite. She competed at Kansas and the Torneo de Universitario de Golf in Mexico, before playing as an individual at NU's spring break tournament and the Sooner Invitational. Davis fired a season-best 251 at the Iowa Invitational before representing the Huskers at the Big Eight Tournament.

Personal
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis, Kimberly was born Feb. 19, 1962 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was a 1980 graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School. Davis was a three-time member of the all-city golf team in Lincoln and was a two-time team captain at Southeast. She was a Class A state runner-up in golf, and she was the state floor exercise champion as a gymnast, while earning all-city honors twice as a gymnast for the Knights. Davis was a math major at Nebraska.
