Redshirt Junior (2025-26)
Symran Shah has put together two of the best performances of her collegiate career in back-to-back events for the Huskers this spring. The redshirt junior in her second season with Nebraska put up a career-best 219 (+6) on her way to her first career top-10 finish to help the Huskers capture the team title at the MSU SoCal Spring Invitational in Camarillo, Calif. (March 8-10). 

Shah's 54-hole total included a career-best-tying 71 (E) in the second round, after carding an opening-round 72 (+1) on the 5,900-yard layout of the Sterling Hills Golf Club. She tied for 10th individually as Nebraska's No. 3 finisher.

Her performance in California followed a then-career-best 220 (+4) at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (Feb. 22-23). It featured a career-best 71 (-1) in the second round on the 6,293-yard layout of the Vistas Course at the Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria. Overall she tied for 54th individually in a strong 15-team field, helping the Huskers to a fourth-place team finish.

Shah made her first of three consecutive lineup appearances at the Texas Golf Throwdown (Feb. 16-17). The native of Carrolltown, Texas, tied for 32nd as Nebraska's No. 4 finisher with a 54-hole score of 234 (+18) at The Woodlands Country Club.

She saw her first action of the 2025-26 season by competing as an individual outside the Husker lineup in The Clash at Boulder Creek (Oct. 27-28). Shah posted a three-round total of 226 (+10) on the par-72, 6,249-yard layout of the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., including a then-career-best-tying 73 (+1) in the second round. She added a final-round 74 (+2) after opening the tournament with a 79. She tied for 65th individually in a 108-player field.

Shah carries a 74.92 stroke average over 12 rounds this season, which represents a 2.02 stroke-per-round improvement over her 2024-25 average (76.94).

Redshirt Sophomore (2024-25)
A transfer who spent her first two collegiate seasons at Virginia Tech, Shah signed with the Huskers on May 31, 2024. She took a redshirt season in 2023-24 with the Hokies.

Shah opened her Husker career by competing as an individual outside the Nebraska lineup at the season-opening Badger Invitational (Sept. 8-10). She tied for 54th with a then-career-best 235 (+19) that included a then-career-best 75 (+3) in the second round on the 6,306-yard layout of the University Ridge Golf Club in Verona, Wis. She was Nebraska's No. 4 individual finisher at the event.

She competed as an individual again among three Huskers at the Big O Classic in Omaha (Sept. 30-Oct. 1). Shah performed well with a then-career-best three-round total of 234 (+18) to tie for 11th place in a 50-golfer field on the par-72, 6,019-yard layout at the Oak Hills Country Club. Her effort included a career-best 73 (+1) in the opening round.

Shah competed as an individual outside Nebraska's lineup to open the spring at the PDI Intercollegiate - hosted by UCF (Feb. 2-4). She finished 88th with a then-career-best three-round total of 229 (+13) on the 6,357-yard layout of the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando.

She continue to slash her career-best tournament score with a 223 (+10) on her way to a tie for 15th while competing in the Husker lineup to help Nebraska to a fifth-place team finish at the Spring Break Shootout in Dade City, Fla. (March 17-18). Shah's performance included a career-best-tying 73 (+2) in the final round on the 6,049-yard layout of the Lake Jovita Golf Club-South Course. She opened with rounds of 74 and 76.

Shah was back in the Husker lineup for the Clemson Invitational (March 28-30), tying for 79th with a 231 (+15) in a loaded 84-player field. She managed a 75 (+3) in the final round on the 6,489-yard layout of The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset City, S.C., after opening with rounds of 77 and 79.

Shah competed for the Huskers in the first two rounds of the 2025 Big Ten Championship in Havre de Grace, Md. (April 18-20). She produced rounds of 77 and 79 on the par-72, 6,187-yard layout of the Bulle Rock Golf Course.

She finished with a 76.94 stroke average over 17 rounds on the season.

Shah redshirted in her second season at Virginia Tech.

Freshman (Virginia Tech, 2022-23)
Shah competed as an individual at the Valspar Augusta Invitational as a true freshman for the Hokies. She carded rounds of 79 and 86 to finish 76th with a 165 (+21) over two rounds in the rain-shortened event at Forest Hills Golf Club (March 12-13, 2023).

Following her freshman season in Blacksburg, Shah tied for 12th at the 2023 Texas Women’s Open at The Bridges Golf Course in Gunter (May 31-June 2) with a three-round total of 217 (+1).

Before College
Shah was a three-time MVP for the Hebron High School team that won the Texas 6A UIL District and State Golf Championships in 2021. She was also the 2019 All-District UIL champion. As a high school freshman, she broke the Hebron school record with a low round of 65.

An accomplished junior golfer, Shah won the inaugural First Tee National Championship at Clemson, S.C., in 2021. She qualified for the USGA Girls Junior Championship in 2018. She also captured an individual title at the AJGA Gateway First Bank Tulsa Junior Open in 2020. It followed a championship at the Texas Legends Alamo Shootout in 2019 and a win at the TaylorMade Junior Open presented by PGA Superstore in 2018.

Shah qualified for the Women’s USGA Four-Ball in 2019 and played in the Texas Women’s Open in 2020. She also competed in the Rolex Tournament of Champions in 2020 and was invited to play in the Rolex Junior Championship in 2020 and 2021. She owns a low round of 64 and was listed as high as No. 93 in the Rolex AJGA rankings.

Personal
The daughter of Ravi and Chhaya Shah, Symran’s sister, Serena, played for Nebraska Head Coach Jeanne Sutherland at SMU. Serena was an All-AAC selection as a senior at SMU in 2022, after top-10 individual finishes at the AAC Championship in 2021 and 2022. Serena was a three-time WGCA All-American Scholar (2020, 2021, 2022).

Symran is majoring in business administration and has earned two spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2025.
